Don't back down. He was the best!

I'm confused why so many dislike Ali. You could argue draft dodger but that argument is crushed by the fact he was never supposed to be eligible for the draft. You could say womanizer or any number of character flaws but why would boxing fans care more about that than what he did in the ring?
I just see it as no heavyweight ever fought and beat better opposition. Sure he got some gifts, I don't think he ever beat Norton, but he fought a who's who of heavyweight royalty. And isn't that what we want from fighters? To get in there and fight other great fighters?
Whether he is the greatest or not is highly debatable. But whether he was great for the sport seems quite clear.
If you like Ali and think he was the greatest, good for you! I'm probably of the exact opposite opinion, I don't like Ali and I don't think he was the greatest, good for me! Truthfully, I don't care what anyone else thinks about Ali, I'm completely certain I'm right! How about the rest of you? ;D
Muhammad Ali is,was, & always will be THE GREATEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for Lennox Lewis ? He is the greatest HW champ since Ali
If you ever get the chance ask Lennox who his idol in boxing is & he will say
!!!!! Muhammad Ali!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Too Bad
They don't have 'Atom' Amos Johnson in there.
He beat Cassius Clay's ass all over the Ring in 1959 at the United States Trials for who would
be the representative at the 1959 Pan Am Games.
I loved hearing 'Atom' Amos talk about how he made Cassius cry.

I love the fact that you are still crying Bill after all these years.
Kent Green
Nobody interviewed me. And I knocked 'The Fucker' out.
I sent him through the Ropes and out on the Ring Apron.

No one knocked Ali out.
He never recovered from it which is why he never became a professional and never went anywhere in his career and just sat on the couch thinking, "if Kent green didn't knock me out, I would have been the greatest boxer in the world."
Then he would have never turned Muslim and wouldn't have dodged the draft and died in combat. You are right bill. Clay never recovered from that.
Yes... Green stopped Ali (then Clay) in an amateur boxing match.
Is there a point to your story, Bill?
