Strange, but true.
thats the bit i regret most, in sparring i have a decent tight style, my gaurd is up and one of my best assets
on fight night i dropped my hands a lot, and my head went back when i was throwing punches
next time tho ill improve and the event wont get to me as much

Small ring and no headgear made for a good fight.
It must have been all kinds of fun in there.
Good job.

Re: My fight who do you think won?
The short story: I think the guy in black won and was a better boxer, but with a casual watch or just seeing some snippets it would probably look like the guy in blue won.
The long story:
I felt the guy in the blue shorts was busy, looking good, moving his head, throwing lots of combos, mostly moving forward, looking like a boxer. He got the floating around part, but not the stinging like a bee part. I felt he looked good but wasn't doing good. This says the guy in black shorts has great defensive skills, most likely. How else to explain the blue shorts looking so good but not hitting anything?
I felt the guy in black looked stiff and didn't throw many combos other than 1-2s. Even though he didn't throw as many punches or look as busy he was actually landing some sweet shots and somehow I felt he was the one in control. The guy in black wasn't floating like a butterfly, but he appeared to be stinging like a bee. The guy in black seemed to be keeping his powder dry. In a 3 round fight, that's probably not a great idea. Since you say "i box a lot better than that but first fight and boxing infront of so many people i forgot about the boxing" I'm going to guess you're the guy in black shorts because the guy in black was the one who was looking tense and shocked by it all.
It was a great fight. Plenty to look at in the video and learn from.
Having read the other comments I see you are the guy in black shorts. Next fight you will do way better. You'll be more relaxed and so you'll be busier. I felt it's pretty clear you have good boxing skills. I wouldn't be embarrassed to watch this. You probably feel that because you feel you could do a lot better than what you're seeing. I think you can, too. Once you get over the enormity of the crowd, etc., I see you takin' care of business :-)

Eric's brother?
Re: My fight who do you think won?
Good work mate.
Like everyone has said I can see why the guy in blue got the nod. He looked the part a little more than you did, a bit more control.
Like you said though you know you'll be better next time out.
Any idea when you'll get another bout?
Re: My fight who do you think won?
Bullshit , Did they really give the guy in blue the nod:confused:
If they did then this is why we have bullshit judges in the pros; (who judge like amateur fights) ,scoring glances even if the others guy has checked the punch on the end of it and dissolved the power or is moving back from the blow so it doesn't land fully).
WTF!!!!

yeah he won, as i walked from the ring some old guy stopped me and said he thought that i had won and as i left the building the bouncer said "your the guy who was robbed arent you"
i dont think i was robbed mind, it was a close fight and im not that upset about the decision because i boxed so badly
and there was 10 fights on the night, the majority of people's first times and the other fights (appart from 1) just turned into brawls

It was your first fight so it seems the nerves got to you but it looks like you know what your doing and next time you will do better and look better doing it.

'the bouncer said "your the guy who was robbed arent you"'
I recognized that quote and so I looked it up and found the first thread :-) In the original thread you mention you were really knackered and that it turned out to be a lot harder work than expected. I have a couple of questions:
1) How much shadow boxing do you do?
2) How much do you think being tense took out of you? (obviously tension is a real energy sap)
It's fun to read the old thread after seeing the fight. Thanks for posting the video and sharing it with us. Hope you'll do the same with the fight in October!
Here's a link to the original thread for those interested:

a do a bit of shaddow boxing at least every time im in the boxing gym
I would say i am pretty fit, i have sparred a lot more than 3 rounds and still felt pretty fresh
running up to the fight i was training every day, the 3 round distance shouldnt have caused me any problems as far as fitness goes, but it did
