The theory that makes most sense to me is that Arum had the rematch planned all along..down to the posters in November. So another house fight and more money for Arum. Cunt
If it's a cooked decision you have to look at who benefits. Biggest money fight would be pac/pbf so in that respect it makes no sense.
And this IS another fight where Pac has looked to have slowed down and not the 3 minute punching machine of old IF he was Bradley wouldnt have lasted, as it was in several rounds his foot was seriously off the gas while Bradley was looking to move and jab, can't have pac landing a couple of shots late and be given the round just for that - which I suspect is what people are doing. It was a close fight.
Sure, I hear what you're saying - But at the same time it's perhaps the best option for Bob Arum and one where he could potentially make more money (depending on how long he drags it on). Remember that if that megafight happens, Arum is splitting the pot with Oscar. This way he gets to keep all profits in-house with the potential of more money down the line from future paydays of his house fighter.
I mean his first reaction was "I'm going to make millions from the rematch but it was an outrageous decision". I think that his greed and hand in this decision is quite obvious.
It was time for Manny to know how Marquez felt 3 times.
Lmao at Arum's back being turned to Manny during the Buffer's reading of the official scorecards.
Despite all of the chatter, it was not a one-sided match with a bad decision.
rematch
Have it in Los Angeles or London England and away from sin city Las Vegas.
It is about time this fixation on Vegas and all the glitz was replaced by some
old time locations where the actual fights are not just extensions of the glitz
fast money and the story of many broken dreams and tragic stories.
I honestly think it was close and id have no problem if pac was given then win and I have no problem with Bradley getting it.
But I do honestly think boxing could learn alot from UFC.
I have not watched the fight and do not know if Arum did fix the fight. He is dammed if he Manny wins controversially against JMM and damned if Manny loses controversially against Bradley. I do know he wants Pac Man to avoid Floyd and wants to keep all fights under Top Rank so he never loses either way. However I do not believe he fixed the fight for Bradley to win because it discredits Pac Man ‘s aura of invincibility and ultimately marketability which is his main focus. It may put people off boxing and paying for the event. So all in all I do not think Arum fixed it but that it was just a bad decision.
I believe any fighter who ends Pacquiao's current reign and has a victory over Manny Pacquiao, almost becomes an instant star. Robbery or Not, deserved or not.
Bradley's marketability just skyrocketed. While Bob might have been getting an idea that Pacquaio was either leaving or retiring.
He was quick to make a name of Bradley, IMO, before it was too late.
I've been thinking the same from the moment Bradley got the win but Bradley's marketability won't last as long as Pacquiao's did. So how Arum could see any long-term or even short-term profit I just don't understand. I'm thinking Bradley's marketability might last just one more fight (which I will NOT buy).
The thing is, if PAC leaves/retires and Bradley eventually gets a loss (apart from the rematch), who's going to be Arum's next star fighter? Will he bring Gamboa back from the dungeon?
The house (being the fans) was definitely Manny's. However this fight was in the US with US Judges. I'd say Manny was the visitor, even though no one is saying it. They didn't pick neutral country Judges like is done in other fights.
