Roy Jones Jr. can't retire. Roy Jones Jr. is an ageless clone. 'nuff said. ;D

Ageless? Who the fuck have you been watching the last few years? ;)

Look what weight reduction did to Oscar against the Pacman. Ego got the better of Roy Jones jr and he thought he was invincible, he probably was throughout the 90's. Had he fought Calzaghe in 2000 for example i doubt if Joe Balls would win a round!
Roy Jones jr should've retired after Tarver 2! He was shot to bits after that fight.
This is a great post, the only part I disagree with is Ruiz being a mistake for Roy. I think That he should have retired after the Ruiz fight. He knew Lennox was just too big so he couldn't really go any further in the HW division unless he fought Tyson, which I'm glad did not happen.
Going back down did take his legs away, I mean does anyone remember the speed of foot he had when he floored Reggie johnson? He was about 10 feet away from Reggie by the time his arse hit the canvas! That was never seen again after the HW experiment.
I first started seeing serious decline a while before though in the fight with Eric Harding, he was still by far the best p4p in the world then, but the man that schooled Hopkins with one hand and won virtually every round against James Toney. The man that taught Montell Griffin a serious lesson in their rematch and that hit Virgil Hill so hard in the ribs that it sounded like Lars Ulrich was hitting his snare drum in the ring that night, that man was gone after that fight with Harding.

That was a great win to beat Ruiz for a light heavy so I am sure he would not want to change that choice. It was a brilliant achievement although
it came with a heavy price I am sure he would never change making that move.
It was a great win, one of the best in boxing history, but what does it profit a man to gain the world but lose your soul? Jones jr didn't lose his soul literally to boxing, but boxing was definitely lost to him after this fight. Jones proved his point to himself and to all of us fans, he alone has to weigh up the cost of it. I wonder if he really thinks it was worth it? I hope he has a good solid life in retirement without any major complications, continuing on for so long after Tarver 2 could not be good for his long term health.
Re: Is it true roy jones retires?
he's 99% fighting Pawel Glazewski in Poland next week
