To sum up he is a circus act , sure he is British level , but in the HW division you need power and he doesnt have it , he has reached his level , thats why now they are carefully matching him .
well im pretty sure Boystov has pulled out of a fury fight saying he wouldnt be in shape? Thats a bad excuse, I think your stupid if you think hes reached his level and you will see it time that fury has the tools to do well at heavyweight. I think whoever he fights next will show that hes ready to take on the better heavyweights in 2013.
Well, I must be stupid then.
Fury lacks power, which is critical for a heavyweight unless you have speed and excellent technique, which he doesn't.
His punch resistance is decent, but not good enough when you consider fighters are going to walk through his punches to get theirs off.
Maybe he will win a belt in the pisspoor heavyweight division post Klitchsko, but in spite of people carping on about his age and lack of experience you need to look at past heavies. Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, Wlad, Ali, Frazier, and Foreman who were all world champions at around his age. Even late developers like Lewis and Holmes looked sensational at Fury's age.
Put it another way, what decent heavies have looked so limited in their first four or five years as a pro?
I dont think its a piss poor division, I personally enjoy heavyweight boxing and think when both the Klitshckos go the division will get more competitive. There arent as many stand out names like the ones you have mentioned, but I look at the current crop of heavyweights that are around, match them all of them up and I think there are some decent fights to be seen.
Re: How good is Tyson Fury?
Fury's not half as bad as some of you claim.
Why is he a powderpuff puncher? 14 KO's in 19 fights. Only Chisora was a 12 round affair and he went the distance with Vitali. The other fights that went the distance were 6 and 8 rounders. For sure he's not George Foreman but he's clearly not a powderpuff hitter either.
Also his form already stacks up with fellow "world" rated fighters.
Chisora, Firtha and Maddalone have fought Vitali, Povetkin, Adamek, Mormeck and Boystov in recent times. Fury beat them as comfortably as the "world" level guys did. So he's not that far off the top level.

Watch his fights! He throws a lot of leather, but most fighters brush it off. They get stopped by a sheer volume of punches coming through their lousy defence, or they are gassing because they are in awful shape.
Vitali handled a fit Chisora much easier than Fury handled a fat Chisora, and let's not pretend Boytsov and and Mormeck have any credibility at heavyweight.
Re: How good is Tyson Fury?
Mormeck just fought Wlad. Boytsov is the man everyone was saying would kill Fury. Yeah Vitali beat Chisora better than Fury but Vitali is one of the worlds best and Fury is apparently utter toilet. Both wide UD's.
I'm just pointing out collateral formlines. He may very well be as shit as you all think, however, the form book doesn't say that yet.
Fury is already mixing in similar company to other "world" champs and "world" title challengers.

I just see Fury as being an arm puncher , he also hasnt faced a HUGE puncher and has be floored already , wait and see but i just dont buy it.
Re: How good is Tyson Fury?
Fury being a top ten ranked heavyweight says far more about the state of the heavyweight division than it does about Fury's ability. This is a division with such a gulf between the top two and the rest that a man many believe to be the divisional number three (Adamek) was so easily defeated by the number two it bordered on embarrassing. Fury can be ranked number three, four or five, I don't care. He will never bridge that gulf in class that the brothers K have created.
Maybe he deserves to be there, maybe he doesn't, but I've been watching heavyweight boxing for nigh on 30 years and he doesn't impress me.

Agree with this fully, I think Fury should be given a bit more time, hes still unproven in his own right and time will tell whether he can make an impact or not. He might be all hype and could get found out, he might go onto good things. Who knows so far? All I know is i enjoy his character and think hes really good for British boxing. I know Price deep down resepects Fury as a fighter and cant wait for the day the fight finally happens, albeit we might be waiting for a while!
Re: How good is Tyson Fury?
However shit everyone says Fury is, there's hardly a top ten guy, barring the Klits, who stand head-and-shoulders above him on form. He's got no power, but stopped guys that top ten ranked fighters have gone the distance with. He's beat a man that became a "credible" challenger to Vitali.
Half the current top ten have struggled with the likes of Skelton and Sprott. Can't get rid of Kevin McBride. Had a "lucky" decision over Chisora. Had life-and-death with wild cruiserweights.
If Fury is shit then so is everyone else.
I wouldn't be surprised if he beat any top fighter barring Wlad, Vitali, Haye or Mike Perez.
Re: How good is Tyson Fury?
David Price has much more potiental he does everything pretty much better than Tyson Fury.
Re: How good is Tyson Fury?
It takes a lot to be a top heavyweight. You have to be skilled but you also have to be a little lucky as well. Tyson Fury isn't a guy I've followed very closely, but I can tell you he's been skilled &/or lucky enough to get where he is right now.
People will always think "What if Fury fought _____?" because he's young, he's seen as still developing, he's "untested" according to some, but hey we as boxing fans do that with every fighter. We want to see how a fighter copes with adversity, different styles, etc.
I think Fury is more talented than most give him credit for being. He does throw a lot of punches, I dont' think he's the finished product by any stretch of the immagination and heck he may never be, he has to keep growing and honing his game to get there. There's something not quite techincal about his skill that adds a bit of excitement to his fights, but that will be dangerous in the upper levels of heavyweight boxing where "one punch can end a fight". Tyson Fury has decent enough skill and great size so those two on their own should take him places in the division, but how does he fair vs a puncher? What happens when Fury NEEDS a late KO to win? Can Fury keep from gassing out vs durable opponents? These are the questions I have and I will have until he answers them.
Will Fury ever hold a major title? It depends on various things: How long does Wlad stay in the division, who does he fight for the title, etc? Right now I would love to see Fury vs Stiverne because Bermane can punch and we need to see how Fury handles a true tested power puncher who can last 12. Heck I wouldn't mind seeing Fury vs Michael Grant because Grant can be durable vs lighter punchers.
Re: How good is Tyson Fury?
If the heavyweight contenders fought one another then that would be entertaining for the heavyweight division. However they will not as too much money is to be made avoiding one another and defending the title against poor opponents for them to risk the real challenges. This applies to Fury, and Price.

Potential @29, vs Fury @24 lol
Look at Prices opponents, you are only as good as who you beat.
Fury is well ahead in that category.
Fury is running out of opponents who are willing to face him and will get a title shot before he is ready.
I rate Price and want to see both fighters in the ring together.
Fury is fighting much better opposition, Price is fighting journeyman fighters, I understand the clamor over Price but beating has-been british fighters does not make you a World champion.
I respect Price, I just do not respect his fan boys.
If Price is so good, why the hell is he fighting such dead-end fighters?
When will Price fight quality opposition.
