So yeah Joe wanting to fight him then and Froch turning it down don't surprise me.
Different story now, judged as a Champion - who hasn't Froch fought? Who has he turned down? Nobody. The same cannot be said of Calzaghe.
The biggest win I can give him is Kes.
Hahahaha!
Froch was 30 and had 21 fights!;D reid was his 22nd! By contrast, when Calzaghe was scheduled to challenge Collins he hadnt been a pro 4 years yet and had 22 fights. Froch was so slow about moving his career but when offered the chance of a boost he went quiet.
This was in 2007 before Calzaghe fought Kessler.
Dont forget it it was Froch who was calling Calzaghe out everywhere but when offered the fight he shit his pants and sat back down.;)
If We are judging Calzaghe purely on the Kessler fight then he is better than Froch...

We can shoot the shit, all day about this fight it never happened a peak Joe v a peak Carl, outcome
Froch gets schooled. ;)

It's all I can judge him on:
Lacy - we've seen how good he was, great beat down... But against a very over hyped fighter
Jones - old, Calzaghe himself WROTE thar Jones Jr. was old and shot, then fought him a year or two later anyway.
Hopkins - old and a very disputed win (not the first either, ask robin reid), some say he lost. Hardly conclusive.
Eubank - old, Calzaghe did take it on short notice, but he can't get the same credit he would have for beating a young Eubank.
Yeah he was undefeated, but he could of had two losses and so was sven otke
Listen, I like Calzaghe (I can see the dvd of the kessler bout on my shelf now), but people tend to over rate him somewhat, doesn 't mean he wasn't a good champ though.
As for Froch's age/record, you said BEFORE the Robin Reid fight, not after! ;)
But what do you want? His career got off to a slower start than Calzaghes? It just goes down as a fight offered to somebody inexperienced and untested at that level. Differet story now.
Re: Froch/Calzaghe! Caption this pic:
He was definetly more skilled. If he was stupid and tried to put fight Froch I could see a stoppage tbh. It's all down to how each one would box.

What are you on about!?
It was Froch that was whining in the papers every week how he wants Calzaghe, Calzaghe is avoiding him etc.
Calzaghe was one of the biggest names in world boxing at that point and Froch wasnt even world rated yet, he wasnt on Joes radar. Froch did a good job at hyping a possible fight so Warren obviously thought "fuck it! Might as well offer him a fight" but as soon as it was offered, Froch had excuses.
As for Hopkins on Calzaghes record, Hopkins went on to give Pavlik his first loss and beat Pascal. Regarding age, Joe is 5 years older than Froch.
Different story now? Why because now Froch has experience? Well, an experienced Froch went in with Kessler and lost. The slower older version of Kessler.;D

You really gonna compare individual fights as if we're playing with pokemon cards?
Froch stopped Robin Reid, many think Reid beat Calzaghe... You'd be a very simple minded boxing fan to judge either fighter off of one common opponent though.
You can't discount the fact that Froch traveled for a start. On the few occasions Calzaghe did leave the UK he was put on his arse by two old men, so you have to wonder if the fight would of happened in Denmark, would it have been closer?
Re: Froch/Calzaghe! Caption this pic:
Froch has won me over, I used to say he was hit, but now he has my respect. I think JC would've 'done a Ward' on him though. Too slick, too quick!!
