Yup, i'm not a big fan of Rios, and I like Danny well enough, but yeah i'd love to see someone shut Angel's yap.. Rios vs. Matthysse would be a fucking war, i'd love to see it. Rios has a hell of a chin, but I believe Matthysse would eventually be able to hurt him and finish him in one of the later rounds.

GB and Arum need to get these fights done and put politics off to the side for the good of boxing.

Agreed. Rios is on my most want to see get KTFO list but Garcia is also on that list mainly because of his old man. Rios should be forced to rematch Abril.I'm still kinda shocked about Lucas's fight time weight.

Yes, I noticed that too. I'm a big Matthysse fan ever since he was robbed against Devon Alexander, but if that scale was correct n there was no typo then he weighed in at 163.5 lbs for a jr. welterweight fight !!!

Gaining 25 lbs is shady as hell. I assumed they meant to list 153.5 lbs.

Also Lucas Matthysse would wreck big mouth Rios. I hope Brandon is foolish enough to believe his own BS. He's a warrior and a hell of a fighter, but Lucas will KO him. Rios is extremely hittable.

He's a good deal better defensively than Rios and he has one punch KO power at 140 where as Rios does not.

Rios could get inside on him and negate his power a bit, but I'd give Rios a better chance against Danny Garcia who can be lazy in there with his punch output.

Look how well the Donaire-Mares negotiations are going. I think if TR/GBP manage to make one fight every couple of years that's the best we can hope for.

Who the hell can Rios fight now other than rematching Alvarado. GBP just signed Lamont Peterson so they've got almost all the top fighters signed up. Rios was all set for a huge payday against Manny till the KTFO, now he might not even make as much as he would have made from that fight in the rest of his career. After Alvarado who can he fight? Judah?

I'm just hoping boxing fans will start clamoring for Rios vs D. Garcia, Matthysse, et al, and Arum gets his head out his ass and makes these fights. One thing I do like about Brandon Rios is his confidence and attitude in the ring and the fact that the little SOB brings it. Rios deserves to fight the best, and us fans should get to see it.

I think Arum could care less about the fans. It's looking like Arum is shut out at Showtime however and there aren't many HBO-worthy fights Arum can make for Rios without putting him in with welterweights. It would be much better if Arum did deals with GBP but we'll probably see him try to sell Bradley-Rios after the Alvarado rematch. I actually wouldn't mind seeing that fight, I wonder if Bradley would take it?

Matthysse, D. Garcia, and Rios are the class of that division, I could care less what the rest do.

Rios will burn himself out having these wars so often at such as young age. Whilst I do not like Rios they should be taking better care of him. Boxing careers are too short and they need to be managed carefully.

You are either Puerto Rican, Big Garcia fan or both. Better opposition ? A washed up EM 2 times and a glass jawed Kahn. Holt was 2 & 2 in last 4 fights entering the Garcia match vs opponents on downslide. Campbell was coming off two straight losses vs Walter Estrada & victor Ortiz, plus a NC vs T. Bradley entering thier match. So this is your basis of better competition and better power? How ironic that after Matthysse destroys Dallas with an upcoming fight vs a common opponent in Zab a mystery injury arises.

Garcia won 25 (KO 16) vs Matthysse won 33 (KO 31) how does this tell the story that Garcia hits MUCH harder. Who has Garcia KO'd that has never been KO'd ? Matthysse KO'd Soto who had never been stopped. Please post facts ....... Lers see your intelligent come back or sheer nuttin .......


Rios vs Garcia is a coin toss as we do not know Garcia's heart as he has not fought anyone with power to be in any danger (same cherry picked opponents pattern of opponents/ fighter with names with flat tires like Pac & Canelo's resumes). Rios will atleast take him to corners he has never beem. Matthysse will destroy both, but Garcia in lesser rounds.

I am guessing Garcia ( or instructed by promoter) pulled out because he probably thought the Zab fight would be an easy fight until Dickhead Dad pissed off Zab and then saw Matthysse destroy Dallas. Zab survived and got a gift decision. Too soon for Garcia to lose everyhing to an insignificant Zab . Garcia camp saw to give it more time and ice an irate Zab that also earned more momentum with Matthysse showing.

Rios only knows how to fight one way so he needs all the wars he can in order to make his biggest paydays in what will not be a long career. Rios has no real talent or inherent skills just a willingness to out man his opponents .

Im not overly impressed by fighters like Brandon Rios. He sounds very uneducated when he opens his mouth and his headfirst style doesn't do much for me. He's winning mainly due to his youth and chin but dude is a few fights away from becoming a vegetable.. knock on wood..

Im not so sure about Garcia right now but Mythesse I think beats him..

And dont count out Mike Alvarado cuz I think he might beat Rios as well..

I think some folks are amused by Rios but I think he's a stupid person and stupid fighter with only balls to show for. Some say that he's a funny guy but I find myself cringing everytime he speaks.. He's like those wannabe cholos in middle school who sounds stupid as fuck when they speak.

Rios would KO the pair of them, he has so much heart and desire, backed up by the ability I cannot see past him myself. Garcia ain't in his League and Matthyse can hit but Rios is turning into a bit of a machine, so I don't think it would be enough to hurt Brandon who will go toe to toe from the first to the last second of a fight if necessary...I rate that kid quite highly!
