Re: Martinez says he will KO Frampton
I thought Frampton looked bigger but Kiko looked like he could smash through walls. Frampton will be under it early doors.

Yh, probably, I still think Frampton will stop him.
They're talking about Kiko's power but look at the stats.
Kiko's KO ratio : 66.33%
Carl's KO ratio : 66.67%
Speaks volumes.
Martinez has double carls fights though with 30.

I agree with you regarding the fight outcome.
However,
Those stats are borderline useless. As you've addressed - Martinez has double the fights... plus fought a higher level of competition and they share no common opponent (I haven't checked that). Stats are a good guide to solving puzzles, especially where gambling is concerned, but can be virtually ignored when it comes to boxing.

Maybe when the stats are this close. But if its Kerry Hope vs Macklin, Barker or Murray then I think those stats tell it all.
But I agree in this fight, it's useless, just my fascination with statistics. I blame Gary Lineker.
Re: Martinez says he will KO Frampton
I'm fascinated with stats when it comes to lots of sports, especially Horse Racing and Snooker, but boxing stats are virtually pointless because fighters basically only ever meet once and comparable form is very sparse.
You match a fighter with a 100% KO ratio against one with 0%. They've never fought the same opposition. They share zero collateral form. How can we possibly be certain the fighter with a 100% KO record is the harder pucher? The 0% fighter could have fought a bunch of iron jaws, or simply mixed at a much higher level. That's boxing.

You have opened my eyes to what may have been pretty obvious.
Deonty Wilder for instance. 27(27)-0-0 wouldn't stand a chance against Wlad imo, but I believe Povetkin with 25(17)-0-0 would.
Where as you look again at Kerry Hope, he beat Gzregorz Proksa on a decision, who is very heavy handed, but Hope has only 1 KO in his whole career. Then the rematch Proksa destroyed him.
Boxing is very unpredictable. Not only form, but what fighters do between fights. Training, lifestyle & personal matters come into it.
Re: Martinez says he will KO Frampton
Read Frampton’s interview in Boxing News and he seems a funny and entertaining person.
Re: Martinez says he will KO Frampton
Frampton to win in style, with in 6 rounds.;)
Re: Martinez says he will KO Frampton
I can't warm to frampton ,but he is a good fighter, I just think mcguigan. Is seeing him from rosé tinted glasses , this fight will tell us more , I'm going for Martinez by ko
Re: Martinez says he will KO Frampton
Andy Lee kicks off the undercard at 8 Pm. Frampton is a great prospect and while I think Quigg is patient and clever enough to beat him, Martinez will be a stern test but one that Carl can deal with. He is young, fast and heavy handed and the home crowd will help him dig deep.
