Re: Great chins. Great fighters have them.
Disagreed.
Great fighters have only one obligation: to win fights.
To win fights, one must protect their weaknesses by fighting in a way that he is most proficient in and maximizes his chance of winning.
If a fighter has a questionable chin but solid defence that prevents his opponent from landing a flush KO blow, then his weakness is a non-issue.
Roy Jones had a questionable chin but went 15 years without a real loss and won belts from middleweight to heavyweight. Anyone who says he isn't a great fighter is insane.

Here are few who had terrific chins. Add to the list or rearrange them.
1. Marvelous Marvin Hagler
2. Harry Greb
3. Rocky Marciano
4. George Chuvalo
5. Julio Cesar Chavez
6. Carlos Monzon
7. Kid Gavilan
8. Jake LaMatta
9. Carmen Basillo
10. Gene Fullmer
11. Sam Langford
12. Daniel Zaragoza
13. James Toney
14. Sugar Ray Robinson
15. Tommy Farr
I don't want to argue but I do want you opinions.
Good list; I would put Robinson at 1 because the man was only knocked out by age and heat exhaustion. I would put Mike McCallum, Hopkins, and Vitali on the list. Oliver McCall and Hector Camacho are honorable mention.

Muhammad Ali to take the bombs of Frazier, Foreman, Shavers, etc.....

We can agree on one thing for sure, there is only one Roy Jones. Right?

I would say Holmes and Ali had brilliant recuperative powers, while a McCall or Chuvalo had 'great chins'. Although their chins were sound, Ali had issues with left hooks, and Holmes with right hands. But Ali always got up and it took a prime Tyson to beat a 38 year old Holmes, without a fight for nearly two years to keep him down.

If it is true Holmes was vulnerable to right hands then Tyson would have got to Holmes sooner or later. ;)
