Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Personally i think Ward's handlers will have to offer Mayweather way more than 160 pound
, Floyd will want paying way more than that.
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Why doesn't he call out Bhop? Or fight Sergio at 160? Floyd is a WW.
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Ward wants to fight a small WW at MW?
What about all of the other guys who actually fight at 160?
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Ward is getting intimations of boxing mortality rehabbing from his shoulder surgery and is thinking about making as much as he can. He was talking about a Hopkins PPV fight too and a Mayweather fight is an even bigger fantasy than a Hopkins PPV fight. He's just really really short of lucrative options and desperate to land one.
If you don't knock people out and you're not interesting/controversial outside the ring then no matter how good you are you're limited in how much you can earn per fight. It's his own fault for not being a cunt.

When people are paying to watch him fight I would call the way he "fights" cuntish;)
He just isn't pay per view material so he's desperately looking for a pay per view opponent. I do remember that Mayweather was in the same boat and wasn't pay per view until he fought Gatti and ruined him. He needed that opponent, but he wasn't trying to drag someone out of their comfort zone, he moved up a weight,

I answered the question and said I would be willing to fight Floyd at 160 if that fight ever came about. My response was intercepted by certain websites. They took what I said and put it on their website with misleading headlines about me calling out Floyd Mayweather.
I've been in boxing a long time and rule number 1 is you don't call somebody out that's three weight classes lower than you. You also don't call somebody out who has a fight coming up, and I'm not in a position to call anybody out right now because I'm rehabbing my shoulder. I'm not a guy that says things for shock value or says things to get headlines. I respected what Floyd has done for the sport before he said what he said and I respect what Floyd has done for our sport after he said what he said. We had a difference and that's what it is. What I'm not going to allow to happen is this thing to escalate and there be some long-standing beef or problem between me and Floyd Mayweather when that's not the case, so it's done. I don't have no problems with Floyd Mayweather. It was squashed the other day. I answered the question and it got blown way out of proportion.
At the end of the day, this isn't about me. The fans shouldn't be focused on me and Floyd. They should be focused on Floyd Mayweather and Robert Guerrero. They got a big fight coming up. It's a fight that's good for both fighters and it's a fight that's good for boxing. May the best man win.
Off FH
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Ward has been turned down by Hopkins and with good reason as Ward is a younger version of B Hop and would beat him. Ward now seems to want to take on Floyd, if he could make the weight he would be too big for Floyd. The fight will not happen, and if Floyd can fight at middleweight he should take on Sergio, the real middleweight champion.
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Martinez wouldn't agree to random testing;)
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
i think floyd would beat him if ward had to come in on fight night at 160 but if not then he would be around 175 fight night and thats just crazy
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
Good to see someone with ethics who refuses to engage in the inane shit-talking that is so fashionable now adays.

Agree 100%. He's one fighter I know has the skills to beat Mayweather ;-)
Be a top top fight never likely to happen.
Shame
Pound for pound? You guys are nuts. Ward doesn't do a single thing Floyd isn't better at and he isn't NEARLY as athletic.
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
I have a ?
How can anyone take this shit seriously?
Re: Ward offers Mayweather a fight at 160lb
..never happen.
Seriously, this welterweight wouldn't even fight other elite welters, called up little guys and old men (and then further stacked the deck against his handpicked opponents.)
Dolts.
