Exactly this. Gonzalez is also exciting to watch because you never know what is going to happen. He reminds me of Khan in that way - no chin, but a ton of skill and power.

Mares reminds me of khan too. Overhyped with no chin

It's not the fact that Gonzalez dropped him, the problem is when he got up he tried trading instead of holding- another khan trait.
Oscar was saying this guy was going to be p4p king which looks abit daft now. He can comeback but needs to make afew adjustments.
Lucky he didnt get the fight with Mikey Garcia but then again it could have gone any worse anyway

Mares chin is fine. It's held up to punches from good hitters like Darchinyan, Perez, Agbeko and De Leon. That shot from Gonzalez would of dropped any featherweight.

How did he get hit with that shot? What happened to set it up?

I think he let his guard down. The round was coming to an end. It was just a feeling out round. Neither fighter had really done much. Than bam. He's on the floor

looks like he was expecting a body shot from the straight right, moved his right glove down in front of his face downwards like he anticipated a right to the solar plexus.

Jhonny dipped and gave a feint to the body and went upstairs.

Mares expected a jab, but jhonny turned it over.

I'm a big fan of fighters that have canny way's of landing shots. And it seems that Mexicans are the best at it!!!

But yeah it looks pretty clear to me that the shot looks like a body shot for most of it's journey.

Erik Morales has thrown a couple of career highlight shots like that in the past, one against Maidana and one against Angel Chacon.
