Roy looks old.
Roy has been knocked out more than anyone around that table.
Steve would probably still ko roy if he gets thr chance danny green style.
Calzaghe was actually very quiet but he came across well but its a shame he was too young to be in that mix of watson benn and eubank.
Nigel benn and eubank would have prob beaten collins in their prime but after the mcclellan/watson drama both fighters werent the same.
I really enjoy those Ringside Round table events, and this one was very good.
Some really interesting stuff came out of it:
Collins came across as a bit of a dick to be honest. He ambushed RJJ about the fight and he seemed quite bitter and angry about things. I guess he didn't make as much money as the other guys as he wasn't really a big name and he came after Benn/Eubank and before Calzaghe. I loved Eubank goading him about retiring to avoid Calzaghe, and when he called him a donkey - brilliant.
Eubank was Eubank - if you look past his silly affectations he often says some interesting things. I was surprised that he said he had no interest in fighting Jones as it would be 'suicide', and he clearly also really rated james Toney
Calzaghe was quiet, but with an 0 on his record, he can afford to be
Maybe it was just me, but I also thought RJJ was slurring his words a bit?
I used to spar with Richie Woodhall in Telford back in the day, and he is exactly the same as he was then. Great guy, intelligent and very modest. He was never an all time great, but he worked hard, good technician and made the most of his talent.
Oh and - had they fought years ago, RJJ toys with Steve Collins.
Once he went up to heavyweight and tried to come back down again, he was never the same fighter.
Those of you who say Jones ducked Collins are seriously losing it. Collins was a nobody in the grand scheme of things. Collins got knocked our by Michael Walker in 1989 and Chris Eubank in 1990. Why would Jones take a perceived easy KO fight with Collinsaftwr those losses when he was busy fighting Bernard Hopkins and James Toney? Beating a past his prime Nigel Benn who was coming in off of a loss is not really impressive, no matter how you want to frame it. If Chris Eubank is a win that's suppose to say made Roy Jones duck Collins then I don't know what world your living in.
Collins got Knocked out by Walker and Eubank???? Collins beat Eubank twice in 95 and Benn twice in 96. It would have been a big fight for Jones, bigger then Bannon, Friffin or Hill that he fought at that time. RJJ beats Collins imo but Collins would have given him more trouble then the other guys he was fighting
