You're kidding me right? Froch...a 3 time World Champion who has fought every top name in the division and has emerged as a top 2 or 3 (depending on how you rank him and Kessler) in the world at his weightclass has delusions of grandeur, but Tyson Fury, who claims to be the best fighter in the world despite being slapped around by a light-punching Cruiserweight in his last fight and continuously fights bums and mismatches, doesn't have delusions of grandeur?
That might be the stupidest argument I've read on this forum.
Most Brits love comical personalities and humble, have a go losers... A confident winner unfortunately intimidates a lot of us.
Ross has admitted to detesting Froch's personality, which is unfortunately giving him a bias when weighing up Froch's chances.
The fight is a pick em, a great match up (the likes of which Fury would NEVER) be put in.
Re: Kessler shows up to the press conference with an army of Viking warriors...
I dont see any improvements in Froch.
Since Kessler beat him he has been beaten again in one of Wards easiest fights! Kessler gave Ward more of a fight until Wards butting cut him to ribbons.
All the fighters Froch has faced bar Ward, Kessler would have stopped and quicker.
Re: Kessler shows up to the press conference with an army of Viking warriors...
I think Ross makes some fair points regarding Froch and his improvements. I like Froch as much as the next man, but Bute folded like a deckchair and the last fight was little more than a stay busy fight. Froch can hit hard, but I doubt his power has reached any new levels and his output and skills are as they have always been. It should be a decent fight, but if anything both fighters are probably where they were last time they met in terms of skills, strength and all of that.
I like both fighters and don't mind who wins, but Kessler is the better technically and if he controls himself can outbox Froch who simply doesn't have the output to make it an all out brawl. Froch was on the back foot a lot last time and with someone as strong as Kessler, he will have to pick his moments again in this one.

Remember little over a year ago?
Most in here thought Carl was finished and was about to get obliterated by Bute. I was one of the only ones who picked Froch to beat him and with this fight everyone seems to be writing Kessler off for no good reason. He has just sparked Green at light heavy while still only weighing 1lb over the super middle limit, finished Magee quicker than Froch, Bute or Ward would have done but given that hes proved hes on form and that he has already shown he has Carls number, all of a sudden hes shit...

Sure, it's a bit overboard and Froch sounds like it has all gone to his head a bit too. You stopped chinny Bute and then middle of the road Mack and that tells you that you have improved and will thus have the referee saving Kessler in the championship rounds? I didn't see anything that suggested Kessler could be stopped last time out and the only thing that has stopped him before is Son of Billy Goat Gruff with the Free Butt style. Froch suggests that he will get close and this time 'not take a breather'. If Froch tries to stop Kessler, I can see Froch himself getting tired and/or countered hard. There is little to indicate he can stop a non-chinny fighter like Kessler. Froch only stops chinny types like Taylor and Bute at this level.
Maybe it is just pre fight bluster, but if Froch is serious, then he is underestimating Kessler too and you cannot underestimate a man that has already beaten you. In that sense you have a point about him being a bit deluded. Just say you will get vengeance without talking about breathers as it just sounds like excuses for the last fight. 'If I hadn't of taken rounds off, I know I would have beaten him'. Well, no shit Sherlock! There was a reason rounds off were taken and it wasn't dust clouds as Froch often seems to take rounds off or get outboxed. If Froch needed breathers then, he is only going to need more at 35 and with more wear and tear.
Having said that, I think it is a toss up fight and will be close pretty much like the last one. Both are on the redemption trail and both are on a fair streak, so it is shaping up to be a good one.
