Re: Khan to fight Alexander ?
I don't think it's about learning now for Khan, I think it's about making as much money as they can. A win against Alexander at welter makes him a remotely credible dance partner for Floyd and that's what this is all about. Khan's career at world level is basically over. Garcia or Matthysse would flatten him at 140 so Khan and his promoters are just looking to bullshit him into a Floyd fight and then sail off into the sunset.
Re: Khan to fight Alexander ?
I think Khan could beat Paulie and Alexander but could not live with Floyd.
Khan v Manny, JMM or Bradley would be very interesting.

Khan is a Nice guy but avoiding big punchers is a disgrace and he will learn nothing by ducking garcia.
This is a stupid comment, Khan fought Garcia and then looked for an immediate rematch and Garcia turned it downGarcia is talking shit its clearly because he doesnt want to fight matthysse

Garcia is making money by defending against 2 old fighters. So far he has not risked much but that is not to say he could beat Khan again.
Re: Khan to fight Alexander ?
Dubai? First for everything (odds-on it ends up in America)
Re: Khan to fight Alexander ?
^^ Yup. Has there ever been a serious prize fight in Dubai? I'm thinking no, wheras it's tossed around all the time. You probably have to donate 50% of your purse to OPEC or something fighting there, who knows.
It makes sense that Khans people want to land a Floyd fight and cash in on him, and fair play to them if fighting Alexander is the ticket to get there. I wouldn't think it would boost his stock enormously, but if he did actually win it's easily his best victory as a pro. If he were in it for the long haul I think it would be a lot safer to rematch Peterson or Maidana even, but neither of those guys are WW's anyways, and Khan could pretty well lose to a garden rake on a given night. I like this matchup if it happens.

Pathetic.
Khan has the tools already to outbox garcia he just needs to stick to boxing.
Running away from the 140 divison without beating the top dog does not look good regardless of your stance.
If garcia beats matthysse then he is completely the man at 140 and khan wants no part of this thats why he moved up (or is going too) and thats why he struggled against his previous opponent who was 8 years past his prime and is known for being a light puncher.
Everyone wants to fight mayweather but would you really put khan in front of garcia after his last performance?
No I dont put Khan ahead of
Garcia. Im just saying that Khan aint ducking Garcia. Why would Khan fight Garcia next? If he does it wont be for a belt as Garcia will have to vacate it for ducking Matthysse. Alexander is a smarter move and he says he struggles to make weight so he is better off moving up in weight.
You can say whatg you like about Khan, personally I think hes an asshole but he doesnt duck fighters. Plenty of fighters are far worse for that, Garcia is one of them.
Re: Khan to fight Alexander ?
I would not be surprised Khan wins this one, Alexander is no big puncher so it a safer option
but there again he may crash and burn.
That's the thing with a Khan fight you never no what will happen,! good chance he's on the canvas
weather he gets up to win well that's pot luck.!!!!!!!!! :)
Re: Khan to fight Alexander ?
I was really looking forward to Alexander/Brook. I think Special K pulled a little Povetkin there. Its interesting because both Khan and Brook make the same mistakes and you would think at this level it would be second nature not to make them as consistently as they both do. Both guys step straight back with their lead hand down and their chin in the air. Devon will caah in on that. Perhaps Khan grows a tougher beard like Cotto seemed to.
They should make Khan/Brook. Its a natural and a huge money fight domestically.

The problem with that is that Brook doesn't bring anything to the table at this stage. I doubt he bailed on Alexander out of fear because it was a winnable fight and if he'd won he'd have had a bargaining chip for Khan to come take the fight. Brook at so much promise but they've kept him fighting at a lower level for far too long and I think it has ruined him. He had so much potential but he had absolutely nothing to learn in a Matthew Hatton fight.
