That must be an African American thing.
I don't even understand where those names come from.
Re: will anyone ever be called roger again?
Ha at the time I picked old names for both my boys especially the eldest one but they came back and are fashionable now.
so Roger will be back as its all down to who your referring to...
Roger Moore
Roger Federer
Roger Daltrey
Roger Rabbit ;D;D;D
everything goes full circle and its all down to younger people seeing names as old so in 40 years the people naming kids will look at Chloe, Jordan etc etcas right old fashioned names and think Roger sounds modern again :D

I read a book by two economists and they studied, using econoomic principals, whatever that means, a bunch of stuff. One subject was the effect that 'very' African-American sounding names have on a child's earning potential. They focused on two brothers- Orangejello and Lemonjello (o-RON-gello and le-MON-jello) and a girl named Shithead (sh-TEE-odd). They figured it would hurt your earning potential pretty bad to be named Shithead.
I have a friend that has a 19 year old son. I was talking about how, when I was a kid, a boy named 'Skyler' would either have to be a fighting mofo or drop out of school in the first grade. The 19 year old said that he had gone to school with a 'Skyler' and that 'Skyler' was a bully. That really cracked me up.

Of course liberals will usually say "Nuh uh that's just an urban legend drummed up by bigot white people. There's nobody named that"
But there are some stupid fucking names out there and yes you will be told "Never judge a book by it's cover" but the odds are if you're named something stupid you're not going to get the benefit of the doubt or a second chance at a first impression.

Grey that sounds like something from Freakanomics.
