The fight SUCKED BALLS.
I rarely fast forward thru a boxing match, but this shit made me do it.
You had two big tough heavyweights in there behaving like pussies because they were deathly scared of being KO'd by the other one.
Deontay Wilder would eat their lunch in a round or two.
Also, Seth Mitchell is a nice fellow and I think it was tasteless to ask him about losing his baby son.

mitchell did exactly what he needed to do to win, if he had have gone after banks it would have been the same result

They must be fighting in the comfort zone and stealing victory. Very sad state of affairs in the heavyweight division.

Unfortunately for him he simply cannot take a punch from a proper heavyweight and I do not forsee him having a ghost of a chance against the top ten heavyweights.
Can't stand that Tyson Fury joker, but I would bet on him KO'n Mitchell.
For those that have never seen a fix unfold before their eyes w/o going to the score cards well this fight serves as empirical evidence that such things exist. Nobody shuts off like that. That goes way beyond letting the fight slip away. Banks was getting dangerously close to being Wlads mandatory after the first fight.
It is a shame this stuff goes on. If anything might bring boxing a bit towards the mainstream will be good heavyweight competition. As it is the only people I talk to about boxing is the people here. No one I know gives a shit about boxing. A few of them have heard of Mayweather but think he is a heavyweight. Because of this shit a lot of people will not see Garcia, Lucas and even Manny. Very sad, so much talent and entertainment many will miss.Quote:

i watched some of the fight again last night (mainly coz there was nothing else on until the man with the 10 stone testicals came on) and im not sure what happened
was it a fix?
Whatever it was it did not reflect well on his abilities as a trainer. It was shameful for him to be wearing Kronk gym clobber whilst doing so little and Manny Steward R.I.P would not have been impressed. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
ive seen banks fight 2 or 3 times if not more and i dont remember him ever stanind off so much
it was like he didnt want to hit him in case he knocked him out
mitchell was out in the 3rd why didnt banls jump on him again

Fights like this, Byrd-Williamson, Klitschko-Ibragimov and countless others is why I wouldn't mind fighters being penalized a portion of their purse for lack of action. Be it from Promoters, Commisssions, or Networks. I believe Pride FC would issue a "yellow" card (10% purse reduction) to fighters for a lack of action.
Then again...if a guy is paid 2-3 times his total purse to throw a fight...a 10-20% reduction is no big deal.

With Banks it might have been as simple as not wanting to be in the position of being his fighters mandatory. Now nobody would expect them to fight but the spin when it was declared they would not would further indict the division.
