Re: Broner is apparently going to F*** Matthysse up after Maidana
Paulie wasn't a great test solely because he doesn't have power though, his boxing skills are up there with all the top guys around the division aside from Floyd. It may well have been a good learning experience for Broner, have to remember he's still very young.

Precisely.. That's why it irritates me when people regarded Paulie as some kinda test.. I dont mean to knock on him but he's a recycled fighter and a safe stepping stone for these up n coming guys because he can't punch through a wet paper bag.
WHen you are facing featherfisted guys like Paulie, you have one less thing to think about .. You dont have to be concerened about the incoming punches which gives you more freedom to do whatever you want..

Fairly true, although even against Paulie people aren't just completely unworried about getting hit. When you are fighting someone with good conventional boxing skills and footwork, it's much harder to get yourself in position to do real damage, especially as a counter puncher. I think Matthyse would beat Broner because he can actually box and control the ring as well as hitting really hard.

That's a good point . But when you are facing somebody like Paulie and Cory Spinks, you have less pressure, knowing that your opponent can't hurt you..
That alone lifts alot of weight off your shoulders..

Hey Adrien. Shit or get off the pot.
Re: Broner is apparently going to F*** Matthysse up after Maidana
that quote was taken out of context.... he was actually talking about their toilets. He plans to induce some constipation and have them lose the titles on the scales. He he's going to wait out Maidana. Maidana has too much mileage on him and if Lopez and pile on the punches on Maidana, Broner will look like an artist early on and a killer once maidana fades & gets sloppy. As for Matthysse. Broners hoping Lucas is softened up and old along the way. He'll clinch , counter and try to spoil early and then edge him later. Maybe his father can brush his hair over the dent Matthysse leaves.

Imho zab would be the worst fight for broner.
Theres more chance of broner beating maidana and matthysse than beating an old zab.
I actually oddly agree with this. As much as we all know Zab would probably find a way to lose, it really does strike me his tools would be a nightmare for Broner and I said this shortly after the Malignaggi fight. Would love to see this get made but of course it's unlikely.
Re: Broner is apparently going to F*** Matthysse up after Maidana
I thought Mattysse was next for Floyd if he beat Garcia not Broner.
Re: Broner is apparently going to F*** Matthysse up after Maidana
I think Broner would make more sense from a logistics standpoint, M. The one thing that could shortcircuit a Broner fight to make a Floyd-Lucas fight happen is Floyd's age. Waiting for Lucas-Garcia, Lucas-Broner, to then have Lucas-Floyd might not be practical at this stage of Floyd's career.
Re: Broner is apparently going to F*** Matthysse up after Maidana
Well, the KEY word in the whole thing is "appparently".
I don't believe he has that much chance to fucked up Maidana and I believe that Matthysse would totally smoke the comb off his head.
Re: Broner is apparently going to F*** Matthysse up after Maidana
I don't see how he gets past Maidana.
He gets hit with ease, and he's quite obviously nowhere near as powerful at this weight.
Maidana, 5 rd stoppage.
