Price is just too stiff, to be honest with you. He appeared stiffer than Thompson was during their fights, and Thompson was old enough to be his father.
Price had better get some mobility and fluidity, or else he would always be a sitting duck for a puncher with a wing-span over 6 ft. 2. Just enough to get inside and tag him a few times- because it's clear that as he gets tagged, his stamina decreases tremendously and he doesn't recover well- made worse because he is so stiff and lacks mobility, which means once he gets tagged, starts to lag, he's gonna get tagged again and again until he either quits or goes down for the count!
Re: David Price splits with trainer.
David Price should pack up, move to America, train with Jonathan Banks and get his mind right. He's got to work on stamina, he's got to work on defense, and he's got to work on his psyche. He has to know that there will be bumps in the road ahead but if he sticks to his game plan of controlling pace, using his size to his advantage, and simply winning rounds he will win more often than not. If Price can pump the jab for 12 rounds, work on his defense, and be mentally stronger than he has been then I could see him achieving exactly what he set out to do win the titles. (albeit after the Klitschko's retire).
Tony Thompson is no slouch, he's a good boxer. He just is the heavyweight version of Winky Wright, he had no fan pull, he had nothing spectacular about his skill set but he's just a very good boxer and a guy it's easy to sleep on.
Re: David Price splits with trainer.
I think calling Thompson the heavyweight Winky Wright is a massive massive compliment ;D
For a relitive novice to get sparked and then unravel against the guy that sparked you is forgivable.
The big danger for Price is that he implodes against someone other than Thompson. If that happens it really is game over I reckon, he just aint got it.
Re: David Price splits with trainer.
Anybody with that kind of size, power and skill should be deemed a solid prospect. But he's got gaping holes in his game that he needs to fill in.

That big goof isn't going to be much of a factor I dont think.
I agree, Price is not impressing me.
