Amazing amateur record with nearly 400 fights and only 1 loss.
Made a good debut and straight into a full on fight and impressed me a lot.
Decent power too , I see a big big future for him ;-)
I was impressed too. Never seen a guy look that polished in his debut. He already looks a class act and if he keeps improving as he has more fights then he'll be one hard man to beat. Hope they don't make a mistake with matchmaking though in an attempt to make history. He has the style to beat Salido but he'll need more experience to go in there with Rigondeux. A loss after only 3 fights wouldn't look good.
If they take their time though I'm predicting this guy will be will be on the p4p lists within a couple years

Tough question. He's got skills in excess. Its kind of a mirror image of what Arum did with Rigo. We expected him to be fast tracked especially because of age and he was not. Opposite look here for a much younger man. Its kind of brilliant really because even if he loses its not a career ender. He challenged for a world title in his second pro fight.
I think its a mistake to make the fight but who knows. Salido is so tough. He will prepare for this like no other. Even Lamotta beat Robinson once.
Btw I've been trying to find out what Lomachenko's reach is and cant find it anywhere. It's got to be mid 70's.
He does look so cool and slick , great footwork , is Salido a good fight for him in fight number 2 ? im not sure . However if he takes that fight and wins it would be a fantastic achievement .
Indeed. If successful its most definitely one for the record books and has never been done in history to my knowledge. Leon Spinks would be the closest in his cough, cough, win against Ali. There have been a few attempts though and the following were title attempts in pro debuts.
Pete Rademacher got a shot at Patterson is his pro debut. 1957
Jack Skelly also against George Dixon in 1892
Rafael Lovera against Luis Estaba IN 1975

How could I forget Saensak Muangsurin? Got the 140 tin in his 3rd.

I knew someone won in their 3rd fight , you beat me to it , Fenech was the next quickest I could think of :)
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Davey moore won a title in his 9th pro fight, having beaten an undefeated Kevin Rooney on the way.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Veeropol Sahaprom in his fourth. Damn these Thai fighters. That kick boxing background must be the reason.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Is Salido next aiming a bit too high? No one would begrudge the guy for taking a smaller step up in competition.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Lomachenko seems more of "the real deal" than Zou Shimming
Nice to see he has the hunger to skip all the bullshit fights trying to build up his resume. But still, time will tell. I am always cautious with new pros, it's like new pitchers in baseball, sometimes hitters just haven't seen enough of them to prepare, more fights means more film which means more of his tricks/tendencies on tape which makes him easier to study and prepare for. But here's hoping he continues his success.
