I believe that offer was made before the rematch was ordered.
What I was trying to say was the order does not affect the purse being offered. hearns is offering Groves more money. I do no it know if that makes any sense?

I guess groves is entitled to more as he's been made Froch' mandatory.
Like if for example if Froch offered him £1,000,000, to fight and Groves said no because now he might be entitled to more.
I don't know but this seems the most likely and logical answer.

Yes but he may lose the opportunity of the fight.

He turned it down because hes worth more? Fight will be a lot bigger then last time, PPV sales will be a lot better, he deserves a bigger purse. Froch would get at least 5 mil for the fight so Groves prob holding out for 2
Re: Froch ordered to rematch Groves by the IBF!
I don't blame Froch going for Jr, as it's a fight Carl will win,! and at the tail end of his carer a
good pay day. Carl has earned his money the hard way, George gave him a fright and Carl
will give him a rematch.
Froch is a fighter that loves a toe to toe scrap, but George did not do that he out boxed Froch
and it was a very difficult for Carl.
Maybe Froch took Groves lightly,! all the I dropped him in sparring stuff made Carl over confident
I myself felt Groves needed 2 or 3 more learning fights, before facing Carl.
Grove should go after Bika,as this is a fight George should win then face Carl end of the year, 2
fighters both holding titles, always more interesting with both holding titles and of course a 50/50
purse.
Re: Froch ordered to rematch Groves by the IBF!
Interesting. Joe C found himself having to make a similar decision and with the same organization when Robert Stieglitz became his mandatory. Joe chose more North American exposure and money with the popular Manfredo. Smart move. He got Kessler next and became the recognized undisputed super mid champion w/o their trinket.
The twist here is that Carl knows the fight needs to happen with Groves unless he retires. And if he retires well let the public flogging commence. He also knows that's its much bigger down the road and is probably just as big even if Chavez were to beat him. If he's stripped of the title or vacates and Groves gets to fight for it and wins then Groves becomes a paper champion and still needs to settle with Froch. I think the domestic pressure alone will be enough regardless of who they both scrap next.
Personally I just dont see the Chavez fight happening regardless of all the press. His Godfather just died and his family are alumni members. I thought he would challenge Bika before but now that Jose has gone to the other side I think its almost a guarantee.

If Froch vacates and Groves wins the title he is not a 'paper' champion, having already beaten Froch, but not the disgraceful referee (see IBF report which is pretty damning of the refs performance).
I'm not sure Chavez wants him because a. he's a serious risk and b. no bugger in england is interested in a Froch PPV that hasn't got Groves in it.
