Yeah... It must have been Holyfields own shoulder that threw him to the deck:rolleyes:;D
Well we do know for certain Holyfield had surgery on his shoulder after the loss to Chris Byrd and then
his excuses for looking poor vs Toney and Larry Donald were that his shoulder was still fucked up
But hey whatever you say, it's not like Holyfield was 42 when he fought those guys and I'm certain age had 0 to do with how you take a punch regardless of how in shape you are
No I clearly remember him saying that he just couldn't keep up with Toneys speed and that he couldn't pull the trigger. He said he could see what he needed to do but wasn't quick enough.
For max power, this was an old middleweight as well. Another fighter who moved up and beat good big men with skill, not size;)
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
Joshua looks the part for sure , I hope he has the skills and chin to back up his impressive athleticism .
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
Joshua can be better and greater than Lennox. He had a better, tougher start than Lennox. The only thing with Joshua is that he isn't a crisp enough puncher as Lewis was when Lewis first started.
Lewis, from the am's, could throw a straight up punch like a pro. Josh ain't there yet. He's Bruno-esque.... hehehehe....
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
Joshua is too stiff of a boxer to beat what Lennox Lewis accomplished, he may end up being better than Frank Bruno but I would guess that's probably his ceiling. The good news is Frank Bruno would be a big time serious challenger these days and once Wlad retires, a possible champion. Joshua should still try to relax a bit more in the ring.
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
He is a dead ringer in the face to a hulked up Demetrius Andrade ;D. Certainly hope his legs are not as stiff in the ring as they are here. Be interesting to see him progress
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
Kevin Mitchell will still not manage to win a world title no matter how many muscles he puts on. As for Joshua...well...lets see how he copes when he's in a real fight...

Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
I see they got the good steroids in the UK
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
Fat definitely helps with punch resistance as would a thicker set waist for body shots. But I think Joshua's middle is still extremely strong and durable, I think it's the proportions of the rest of him that give a underwhelming appearance of his waist. Being tall he should be able to avoid too much body damage anyway if he develops into a technical fighter.
Fuck they both look strong though, forces to be reckoned with there. I wonder how they're going to cover that up come testing time lol
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
Also I'd be surprised if Kev could make the LW limit anymore looking like that!
If that's a lightweight these days fuck me! lol
Re: Damn look at Joshua and Mitchell
Joshua looks like a typical black guy who goes to the gym.. Black guys dont have to work out as much to get cut so im not impressed.. It's in their genes..
Mitchell looks to be in great shape..

Joshua has nowhere near the pedigree that Lewis had. That will probably be his limiting factor career wise!
For some reason everybody thinks that a muscle bound 6'5"+ boxer these days is automatically in the running to be the next dominant champ!
PRoblem is most of those guys were late starters in the sport and turned pro with limited ammy experience.
Big guys like Wladimir, Vitali, Lennox and Bowe were great because they were born and bred boxers from the start!
