Re: Anybody picking Chino
The last time I picked against Mayweather was vs Hatton :-X In fool disclosure I was also a daily user of high grade marijuana and the occasional and very accidental hallucinogen. If Maidana pulls a miracle I will love it, I'll also piss myself to the point of my bladder exploding. I just cannot see it all aligning for him.

Maidana is a rough customer and he's not going to quit or beat himself in there. He's going to come out firing and make Mayweather work. This is not a "gimme" fight. The odds would have been equally bad (or at least close to it) if it was Khan fighting him as well. It's just a testament to how dominant Floyd is in the sport.
Perhaps not a "gimme" fight depending on how you define "gimme, "but this is a very easy fight for Floyd. How many times has he beat guys with Maidana's style?
Re: Anybody picking Chino
I'm not even picking chino to win a round.
Did any1 see the face off sounds as if this could be maywathers last fight.
Re: Anybody picking Chino
The only time Chino can get a lucky punch, like those awkward overhands, is as always in the first 2-3 rounds. Guerrero gave Floyd a fair bit of trouble in the very early part of the fight, after which it was all downhill, of course.

Why are you hoping Maidana wins??
Aren't you American??
I bet Argentines aren't hoping Floyd wins.

Why do Americans want another American to lose???
You guys are the ONLY people on the planet that pulls against your own countrymen.
You best believe there aren't any Argentines pulling for Mayweather.

I'm not saying I'm picking Maidana or even that I think Floyd ISN'T going to win a lopsided decision.
What I'm saying is that Maidana is a world class prizefighter with big punching power and an incredibly aggressive style and he's not going to beat himself. Floyd's going to have to go in there and work for it. These guys aren't coming in to make Floyd look good, they're coming in to cash in a lottery ticket and dethrone the biggest name in the sport.
On paper does this look like another lopsided decision for Floyd? Sure. But I don't like hearing people talking about "easy" wins, especially with a guy like Maidana.
People were saying the same shit about Maidana when they announced he was fighting Broner. People were accusing Broner of cherry-picking Maidana to look good. Maidana is a rough customer.

What would be an "easy win" for you? For my money, Canelo was not an "easy win," nor was Cotto.
Guerrero, Ortiz and Baldomir were easy fights for a champion like Mayweather. Those aren't easy fights for most other people, but for Mayweather, they're easy fights.
Lepai beat up Boystov who was a world-level competitor to get himself into the ring with Wlad. Lepai is a relatively accomplished professional, but, I'm sorry, that was an easy fight for Wlad. Lepai is still a big Samoan with a big punch, but the outcome was predetermined. Maidana is a tougher opponent in a p4p sense than Lepai, but he's an easy opponent nonetheless.
Maidana presents nothing Floyd hasn't seen before. There is no suspense as to what the outcome will be like there was at least a little bit with Canelo. He's not faster; he doesn't punch harder; he's not smarter; he's not bigger; and he's not more technically savvy than Floyd's previous opponents. In every single category you would look at to compare with Mayweather, Maidana loses.
Maidana was a tough outing for Broner, but so was Paulie. Broner is no Mayweather.
Re: Anybody picking Chino
I'm looking forward to the fight, I have a feeling Maidana is going to prove himself worthy to be in there. I don't think he'll win, but I think he'll make a fight out of it.
I think he'll do better than Canelo... and you can quote me on that!
VIVA ARGENTINA!!!
Re: Anybody picking Chino
You are getting excited about nothing, this is a slow and hand-picked opponent and if Floyd does not stop him then it is a poor performance. You can quote me on that too. ;)
Re: Anybody picking Chino
But if you want to know what I call an easy fight... look no further than Broner's opponent. A guy with limited experience on the world stage, a guy who's been inactive for two years, doesn't have a big punch, and has no momentum.
An easy opponent is a guy you can bring your B or C game to and still win. An easy opponent is a tune-up, a night off, a keep busy fight to look good in.
I don't view Maidana as an easy opponent for anyone because of his power, his tenacity, his unorthodox power punching style and his experience on the world stage. I don't believe he's a guy that's a night off, or a guy who you can go up against after a half-assed camp. If you sleep on this guy, he's going to knock you out, and that goes for anyone, even Floyd.
So that's my answer. I predict Floyd will beat him because Floyd never comes in half assed and always brings his A-game, which is a big reason why he's gone 18 years without a loss. I just don't see him as an easy night for Floyd, and I don't think Victor Ortiz was an easy fight for Floyd either.

What are you telling me for, Tweet that to Floyd immediately. I'm sure that information would be of the highest value to him.

Maidana isn't a jr MW like Canelo....he won't be able to take those shots.
