... and then get caught in the exchanges with a shot, and then what would we say? Every fight Khan has lost, by ko or by the robbery vs. Peterson, Khan was WELL ahead in the fight. He boxed smart and took his opportunities when they were presented to him. I liked the way he fought.

Funnily enough, I think still Amir Khan could outpoint Mayweather, but would get flattened by Maidana.
I agree with most of what you said, but I think he should had gotten the KO win over Collazo last night. If there was ever a boxer inviting a KO, it was Collazo. Following Khan around with his hands down, allowing himself to be grabbed and held, talking to the referee while Khan was throwing punches, throwing wild punishes that were missing by a foot or more and playing the fool.
I don't know what triggered his stupidity, maybe he saw Khan's speed and movement were too much and just went head hunting. Man, what a disastrous night for Collazo, the potential fight with Floyd vaporizes plus he puts on a display of unmatched stupidity!
I was never really a fan of Khan's. Call it a mix between his at times delusional sounding smack talk and his hopping jousting style. I always felt a guy with his speed and long arms should be punching/counterpunching with accuracy and range. It looks like in the year off hunter had some time to address khans inefficiencies without a resetting khans propensity to abandon a plan and just go back to trying to out punch someone while hes hurt. He looked less hoppy and smoother with his footwork. I still feel his linear approach will cause him problems with doubling the force on counters he runs head long into and him landing stops him right in the range and the path that many guys hook in. The clinching and armbars are probably Hunters tactic to deal with that. If khan can do it when he has his wits about him, hes more likely to do it when he gets clipped and his legs to jelly.
I agree on Collazo fighting the dumbest fight possible. I think part of it is collazos belief that he would have to market himself if he wanted it (a win) to lead anywhere. Leading up to the fight you could tell Collazo was a bit delusional in his assessment that a win could put him in the mayweather sweepstakes and a loss would mean he would start from the bottom again. Did this guy actually believe he was going to get another shot after losing last nights fight at age 33. There's a reason they dug collazo out of a hole to fight khan. Before Victor Ortiz impaled himself on a collazo counter in victors comeback fight after a year off and tap dancing..., collazo's last fight of note was berto in Jan 09. That's 4 years in the shadows. With the pool of talent around the weight as thick as it is, thats not even gatekeeper status (judah, berto, Josesito). I'm not trying to degrade khans quality of opponents but i do think if collazo was the collazo of old, he would have had more matches with named players trying to solve his puzzle, on their way up. He used to be a guy that some fighters avoided because he was slick enough that he made it hard to look good against him. That version of collazo is gone since hes been feasting on club fighters in the small pond.
