I like mma when guys stand up and fight, but I could go without the rolling around on the mat and 69ing each other. I understand that it is a very technical part of mma, trying to get position to setup a submission, but I've seen matches where that's all they do for 15min. It gets pretty boring to watch.
I love boxing but I also enjoy NFL football, baseball, and hockey. I play golf from time to time but I don't really enjoy watching it.

Hmm. I am a Power Lifter and compete throughout North America, The similarities are many. Training, focus, discipline, rest between events, getting the edge, etc.
In Powerlifting, like in most sports and even in most other endeavors, going into competition with a fine-tuned sharpness can often provide an ever-so-slight edge. But how does a lifter go about honing that edge? A very few do it the wrong way by using PEDs (aka performance enhancing drugs). However, there is any number of legitimate ways to get an edge. Some are tangible; others are not. The list I developed was taken from a list I developed for boxing.
