Cotto has one fight at midddle and already has a better resume at middle than Golovkin;D
Again you are so focused on names. THat win means shit, Martinez was shot, Macklin, Barker, Murray all likely beat that Martinez.
Yes the fact that Martinez beat them all comfortably means that they would now suddenly be better fighters.
Get real!
Cotto has been genuine world class for about 10 years.
Re: GGG now looks to be the best middleweight in the world
GGG is too much for Cotto. The Martinez win was impressive, but Sergio doesn't hit like GGG and isn't as physically imposing/strong. Canelo and GGG are bad style match ups for Cotto in my opinion. I would rather see Miguel fight a Floyd rematch or PAC rematch at this point.

Martinez is a southpaw. Hes a more difficult opponent than Golovkin and Alvarez who both shut up shop when pressured.
Re: GGG now looks to be the best middleweight in the world
Based on what? I still do not see what all the fuss is about because who has this guy really beaten? I would rather see GGG vs Quillin for a legit shot at the champ.

Not because they have got better, because Martinez has gotten a lot worse. Are you so retarded you cant see that?

GG is not a beast....he hasn't done anything beastly in his 8 years as a pro.

I don't think the Martinez we saw last night is more difficult than Golovkin or Canelo. Sergio didn't make any excuses, but he definitely suffered from limited mobility, which is the trait he relied on the most. That fight would have gone much differently had Sergio been at full capacity with his knee. Cotto is too small and fragile for 160 and will always have a difficult time with mobile, slick boxers (Trout, Floyd, Shane when he boxed...etc.).
The biggest issue for Cotto at 160 is his durability and cardio vs. large, pressure fighters (why I think GGG kills him). In his fights vs. Clottey, Margarito and even Pac Man the pressure and pace had him wilting in the later rounds. I like Cotto, think he is a great fighter and true warrior, but I understand his size and style limitations. His best options in my opinion are to rematch Floyd or Manny (or both if he wins them) or take on Canelo at 154 (I think it will be a tough match up but winnable for Cotto). I would avoid GGG at all costs and will be surprised if Freddy and Arum let that particular fight happen.

Why get mad and call names behind the safety of your computer?
Martinez was never all that...calm down.

Canelo has no foreward gear...he's stuck in reverse.
GG may or may not be too much for Cotto....I know one thing....Cotto would CRUISE through GG's resume.
GG got touched up by slow-motion Adama...a guy like that couldn't hit Cotto with rice at a wedding.

I feel like it is about style match ups, and I think GGG has that punch and relentless pressure that will mentally fatigue Cotto and exhaust him. GGG is a special fighter, and I feel like he will look spectacular vs. Cotto because he is so much larger and stronger. I agree with you that Canelo is beatable for Cotto, but that is still a dangerous fight for Miguel. If I was advising Cotto I would have him fight Canelo next and then Pac followed by Floyd (assuming he wins the first two). At this point in time all of those fights are great/historic match ups and winnable fights for Cotto.

Relentless pressure against who??
Hell
I got relentless pressure against the sorry motherfuckers on his resume.
GG has 300 amateur fights and is 32 year old 8 year pro
HE'S
ON
BORROWED
LEGS
Those are too many amateur fights..he's starting to show the signs already....look how he backs out with his hands down....he doesn't bring his punches back...and he appears to be weak to the body.
He was dropped hard in sparring by a body shot from trial horse Tyrell Hendrix.
A slow basic fighter brought in to make him look good....Adama....was able to walk GG into CLEAN straight rights and hurt him to the body a couple times.
There is a reason he is matched so lightly.
Re: GGG now looks to be the best middleweight in the world
Curtis Stevens and Macklin were solid fighters and GGG destroyed them. I predict he does the same to Cotto, but I guess only time will tell. It seems that since you get so upset over the discussion that deep down you feel the same. It's the only reason why you would take this type of discussion so personally.

He's supposed to destroy solid fighters.;D
Cotto destroys solid fighters all the time.
I'm not the one getting upset.
I'm just not as easilly impressed as you.

Special fighters do special things.
Special fighters don't pull back will their hands down.
Special fighters bring their punches straight back.
Re: GGG now looks to be the best middleweight in the world
GGG has a very underrated defense and parries punches very well. This allows him to maintain constant pressure while avoiding unnecessary punishment and remaining in position to counter punch. Cotto will likely use movement to offset the pressure, and his jab will be effective, but GGG has that punch that makes guys panic and expend nervous energy and wasted movement. Cotto hasn't ever been the most durable guy, and if Manny could hurt him at 147 then GGG will be even more effective at 160. Guess we just look at both fighters and their ability/style differently...
