Re: Zab or Chino, which one gave Floyd more problems?
I'm not sure who gave him the harder fight. Probably Maidana, in terms of how he felt the day after it.
One thing I thought about recently though, (although I could be embarrassingly wrong here) is that Floyd stopped throwing rights to the body after he got clipped and dropped by Judah's blind-side right hook. I really don't think I recall him dipping down and extending himself like that ever again.
Perhaps he decided his athleticism wasn't at that level from that point on???
Also, he is starting to neglect his left hook these days. Ever since approx 2010 I'd noticed the leaping hooks (like the one that dropped Marquez) had slowly been replaced with right hooks from a more flat footed stance.
Again, I could be way off but something tells me this is the way of things for Floyd.
Re: Zab or Chino, which one gave Floyd more problems?
I went to the Mayweather vs Judah fight and I remember I was nervous halfway through cause I bet on Floyd to win 2k at -450. I felt that Zab matched up very well against Floyd for the first 5rds, he may have even scored a knockdown when Floyds glove touched the canvas. When Maidana fought Floyd he overwhelmed Floyd for the beginning of the fight, even though he missed 80% of his punches and the punches he did land weren't clean. I may have had both Zab and Maidana up 3 to 2 after rd 5 but I gave Floyd 7 to 12 in both fights.
To me Zabs performance was more impressive because his skill level was almost on Floyds level for half the fight. Maidana won his rds on sheer will power and volume of punches.
