He also knows how to punch to the body and, although he isn't the biggest puncher, packs a half-way decent wallop. I'm probably most looking forward to this fight to see GGG in action again after his hiatus as a result of his father passing away. Geale ranks a tad bit higher than Macklin for me. If heat beats Geale, it's one more step to cleaning out the division. Top Rank and Golden Boy won't let Cotto or Canelo anywhere near GGG so at some point, if he wants the big fight, he'll need to take a risky one at the weight class above.
He's too old to be cleaning out a dead division.
Nobody cares about this fight.
At GG's age the last thing he needs to be doing is wasting his time on a top 5 or 6 middleweight.
Dude is not a spring chicken..especially when you throw in over 300 amateur bouts.
Beating Geale means absolutely nothing...especially after the way Cotto anihilated Sergio.
Cotto in one fight has beaten better comp than GG.
Why aren't you a fan of GGG?
Who would you like to see him face?
I'm missing the connection between Cotto beating Sergio and GGG fighting Geale. Are you suggesting that GGG should face Cotto? If so, I completely agree--I'm just not sure Cotto's team will let him take the fight.
Re: Golovkin vs Geale might steal the show.
Its a decent enough match and opponent and its one HBO approved that will get Golovkin fights off the Amber list and increase the visibility. Enough of that backroom elite audience glamorized sparring match stuff like last out. Geale can touch Golovkin early, knows how to dig a liver and do some work but he'll collect damage all the while and be forced to stand, he is tough mentally, but it'll be too much. The bar has been set high for Golovkin and he'll be beating a 'world ranked' fighter and one people are familiar with. Respect to Geale, but this is only about 'whats next' for Golovkin. Golovkins detractors will always find a fault but this is a step in the right direction by far.
Re: Golovkin vs Geale might steal the show.
This has to steal the show, it is the only top draw fight on this week.
Re: Golovkin vs Geale might steal the show.
Golovkin will win the fight, but i don't think Geale is getting the credit he deserves,he is one tough fucker, the best fighter GGG has faced anyway, looking forward to this fight.

You're right...Geale ain't shit.
It's high time GG took some risks and challenges himself.
Geale is about as risky as going to the mail box.
This fight coming off Adama is not the right move for a 32 y/o 8 year pro..
He's not doing himself any favors wasting his time with all these soft touches.
Who is he going to fight, Canelo , Jr , Sergio, Cotto, he will wipe the floor with the 4 of them, if
I managed them 4 guy I would give GGG, a miss, may I ask you do you come from the 3rd Rock
from the sun.;D
Re: Golovkin vs Geale might steal the show.
We're looking for Golovkin to be a level above Geale. Demanding that he blow him away might be a bit fanciful but he should be dominating him.
