Re: Predictions - GGG vs. Rubio?
Golovkin wins by KO and something you don't see every day happens in the fight.

Re: Predictions - GGG vs. Rubio?
How about Donaire-Walters? I was somewhat surprised to see that Walters opened up as the favorite at -150. That's wild. I would have picked him in the upset, but I'm not sure I'd take him with those odds.

I actually think Algieri is a live underdog in the Pacquiao fight. Pacquiao's the favorite, but Algieri has got a shot at boxing and moving to a decision. I would say Rubio beating GGG is a bigger upset.
I figure at least one of these fights will end in an upset.
Come on, sir! Who do you think has a bigger chance of losing, or better yet, who do you want to see suffer an upset?
We all know anything can happen in a fight, who do you have doubts about?
Manny is looking old? GGG fights with too much abandon?
I've been calling a Chris Algieri upset since the fight was announced. I think he can out box a Manny that is past his prime, out of shape and taking him lightly.
I've always liked Rubio and I'd love him to win the fight but he hasn't seemed sharp lately and I hear he's having to cut a lot of weight for this fight.
As for Donaire... When was the last time he looked really good in a fight?
Re: Predictions - GGG vs. Rubio?
I like Walters to beat Donaire and wouldn't be shocked to see a bit of a beating. In many ways these guys are going in opposite directions and as long as Walters doesn't choke on huge fight stage, Donaire has been flirting with defeat and pushing his body and over reliance on looking for one bomb one time too often. Rubio is here because he is durable and experienced but ultimately he rarely if ever forgets his limitations when it comes to top flight fighters. Golovkin breaks up the body and gets tko 8 ish
Re: Predictions - GGG vs. Rubio?
Rubio has no chance to win this.
He has a slim chance of going the distance.
He's tough, has some power, but he cannot win the big one. He gets intimidated. Beating David Lemieux was a feel good victory though and a damn good one at the time.

The Lemieux victory was a good one for him. Given the odds and the expectations, it would be impressive to see Rubio take it some rounds.
Re: Predictions - GGG vs. Rubio?
GGG will stop him like Pavlik did.

I think Donaire hasn't had is head fully in the ring since stepping into it with Rigondeaux. As long as Donaire has he head in the fight, he is much quicker, a better athlete and more skilled than Walters. All he has to do is use it. I don't expect Walters to make it through the late rounds if he does, he loses by a wide UD. If Rubio manages to go the distance, he'll would gain a new rep for a granite chin, but he won't last past the 6th.

Have you seen Walters?

I honestly haven't seen Donaire resembling a better athlete or showing a diverse skill even before Rigo. I think he terribly sold himself short as far as consistent skillset. He got drunk on his power a bit, loaded up and trained himself into bad habits and last resorts. Mentally and physically..he got and is fat. Explosive if a bit happy on his left hook and deep in experience yeh, but I think Walters is catching him at the right time and watched even Vic box him around and what his face looked like after and his talking about even staying on his stool. Huge stage and no doubt Donaire will take it serious, but I like Walters composure and two handed pop and isn't delusional with power. Confident, but not arsehole cocky. A bridge too far for Donaire in natural size and timing. Great scrap!
