Then on that logic alone the bookies must make Fury favourite.
Re: Tyson Fury "Key to beating Wlad is fighting southpaw"
Well then I guess it's a damn shame Tony Thompson just stopped Odlanier Solis in their rematch
Re: Tyson Fury "Key to beating Wlad is fighting southpaw"
I've always considered Tyson Fury the modern day Ali.
Take Ali, make him 6'9" and 260lbs, paint him white, and you have a Tyson Fury, complete with all the trash talk, fast arm punches in combination and runnin around the ring like a lunatic, enjoying his height and often weight advantage over his opponents. Stylistically similar with the combinations also.
Except this time the opponent isn't a giant lummox like George Foreman or Sonny Liston!
It's a serious opponent.
In the words of Howard Cosell... "I just don't think he can do it".

That, is without doubt the biggest insult I have ever seen to Muhammad Ali! Bill Paxtom would be absolutely proud of you.

Stop talking shit... His most serious opponent to date was a cruiserweight who would have weighed in as a heavyweight during Ali's era. Not one of Fury's opponents fits the archetype of today's super heavyweight at anything resembling an elite level.
You seriously think Chisora compares favourably to George Foreman?! Hahaha...
There we have it folks...
Foreman - Lummox
Chisora - serious opponent
:vd:
Without a doubt one of the top 3 stupidest things I have ever read on this site. This is what happens when you try to awkwardly shoehorn an insult about a fighter you dislike into an entirely unrelated discussion... Give an idiot enough rope and he will hang himself with it.
Re: Tyson Fury "Key to beating Wlad is fighting southpaw"
I mean, it's not complete hog-wash.
He'd have to fight pretty much one handed - occupy Wlad's left all night and stay way away from the right but although he has the dimensions, I don't really think he has the positional awareness and hard-lined tactical mind to do this against a top 10 all-time heavyweight great. No chance.
Re: Tyson Fury "Key to beating Wlad is fighting southpaw"
Going into a fight against Wlad you have to pick your poison, which punch are you going to pay less attention to? If it's the jab then you're in for a long night of eating those, if it's the right cross or left hook then you're in for a short night unless you have one hell of a chin.
To me and this is just me mind you, Tyson Fury seems to be not very different than Maruisz Wach. He's big, he's not super agile, he's an arm puncher, and he doesn't pay too much attention to defense probably because he's so dang big he's been able to get away with it.
Fury 6'9, Wach 6'7 & 1/2. Fury 24 wins 18 KO's, Wach 29 wins 16 KO's, Fury 85" reach, Wach 82" reach, Fury stopped Hammer in 8, Wach stopped Hammer in 6.
I think Fury is more of a showman, maybe a touch more fluid, he may also have a weaker chin based on the bombs Wlad landed on that Mac Tonite crescent moon shaped chin of Wach and seeing how Cunningham really caught Fury hard. But we'll just have to see, but I think they aren't far off each other.

Fury has the weaker chin by a mile bud. Wach took Wlads shots while Fury nearly got decapitated by HMS.
1 or 2 left hooks/straight rights and the fights done.
Re: Tyson Fury "Key to beating Wlad is fighting southpaw"
The difference is when Fury is focussed he will be the best mover and combination punher Wlad has faced for a long time. He will also be miles harder to hit than Wach or anyone else hes faced.

Did you need to for the question to not have a valid point?
