It's either this fight or no fight and I'm a fan of fighters staying busy even if it's against lesser opposition. So I have no problem with this fight because it's between this or nothing at the moment.

He saw the same thing in Sergio, a 40 year old champ with knee problems.
I give Cotto credit for being the one to dethrone him, but Sergio was a far cry from the guy who dominated MW for a few years. But in the end, Cotto saw some low lying fruit and grabbed it. He has no intentions of sticking at MW.
Also lets not forget roach and Cotto bringing it to the the athletic commission's attention that sergio wheres a knee brace and trying to get it banned. Looked pretty cheap and desperate.
Re: GGGs mission to clean out MW
haha MARVIN tHE MONSTER would make minced meat out of GGG, 6 rounds tops.
Re: GGGs mission to clean out MW
I view Tureano Johnson as a top 10 middleweight. No doubt that this fight is a step back from Murray, who I view as the second best middleweight. At middleweight, I would like to see GGG against the Lee/Quillin winner or Cotto. Other than those matches, I'm not sure there's much remaining at 160.
Let's not single GGG out for dominating a division and not moving up though. Not only has Ward done the same thing, it's worse because he's cleaned out the division almost three years ago. And now he's angling for a fight against Froch, a guy he already beat?

Ward has been in court more than he has been in the ring, therefore it is a intriguing fight now against Froch.

Perhaps, a tad bit if the fight is in Nottingham. However, I expect the exact same outcome.

It will be closer. It is the equivalent of Hatton v Floyd at 140lb, Dave Paris refereeing and the fight in Manchester.

Like Floyd and Canelo. Pathetic.
Re: GGGs mission to clean out MW
Think the loaded agenda is clear when ya have to use Boxrec rankings to belittle a guys calibur. Johnson is #46 anything just like Tarver is a #8 heavyweight. Exactly who is Golovkin ducking?

I agree, I don't think anyone should be fighting at catch weights. Fight at a weight division or go fuck your mother, that's what I always say (even when it doesn't apply).
