He can't be arsed training anymore. He wants to retire but his ego won't let him because he desperately wants to keep his name relevant and wants to talk about knocking out Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley.
I'm sure he's going to fight again.
Re: Andre Ward popular misinformation
Well Ward been out for ever and it is not like he does not have people to fight i mean he can fight GGG or that monster up at lhw if really wants to make a name again. Who knows GGG gets put off so much most suck not being able to get a fucking fight when all you do is knock people the fuck out.
Re: Andre Ward popular misinformation
Carl Froch is a total cunt.
If you don't think so then something has gone wrong in your brain.

Just keep repeating it because the truth is what fans want to believe. Just like team Pac did for years others will do. But,like then, the factual numbers don't lie. HBO dropped the ball on Ward's promotion. They can get it back, but they really dropped the ball on this. The Goosen promotional hold up made it much worse. In fact, if you look at it from an economic perspective, the Goosen hold up could have been used to raise the demand for Andre Ward- but it had not.
Ward needs to go on a world tour. Fuck American fans for right now. He needs to go on a world tour, and his next 3 or 4 fights should be in places like London, Germany, Japan and China. He can get some fights and draw a few crowds there. Shit, even take a chance with Mexico and France. Who knows?
Additionally, he needs to go on Oprah, at the very least. Cant have extraordinary talent just wasted without the proper push from the media.
I would suggest Oprah, Good Morning America, The View, Ellen, etc... just go on a media blitz. ESPN too. Give the people a chance to love him and little more.

I'm not quite sure that's possible. If only for the very same reason hbo "dropped the ball" on wards promotion. Who wants him on their show and for what reason? I'm sure he has the positivity of an potential guest... but he was a fighter with 2 or 3 world titles, on the mythical pound for pound list, beat a light heavy champ* but wont fight out of his own backyard unless its at wembly in front a massive crowd, fighting a guy he already beat decisively eventhough he just came off a 2 year layoff and his last 2 fights were against no hopers. We're talking about a world champ whose acting like a regional champ.
Andre got his money through Roc..and I guess i'm happy for him. But I don't read forbes, so until the big contract landing primadonnas that feel like they made it to the top of the sport by way of their paycheck and not their performances, are ready to make statements. They don't matter a whole lot to me. I would imagine there are lot of people out there that feel the same way. So if ward wants to go on a promo world tour he can but he either has to push the envelope by campaigning as perhaps the "Anti Floyd" or a warrior who on behalf on Roc is going to single-handedly put haymon out of business by taking on and beating any PBC fighters within a division of him... (What a son of God without a crusade) ..
He's either going to have to choke down some humble pie, fight a lot and put some fighters down in action packed fights and make everyone come to see him or stay on the path hes going and hope people come around and warm up to variety shows and his paid boxing lessons on BET. It appears hes content to count his money and do the latter as he becomes the Super Middle version of Michelchewski.

Calzaghe, Golovkin, Hopkins. He's also bitched and moaned about having to fight certain guys away from home, threatened to retire if he had to fight them abroad and so on.
Re: Andre Ward popular misinformation
There are good fights for Ward if Froch is retired and GGG doesn't want to move up to fight him at 168. At 168, the winner of the DeGale/Groves rematch, or Badou Jack if he spoils it. At 175, Kovalev, Pascal, Stevenson, Beterbiev, Alvarez, Braehmer. He's had a come-back fight. Now let's see him in good competition.
Re: Andre Ward popular misinformation
Ward might as well move up because he has cleared the divsion and 175 has alot more big fights. The fact that he has not fought so long is kinda crazy. GGG i think is 160 fighter i am not sure how much he cuts and he beat Froch in a fight that was not really that fun to watch either.
Re: Andre Ward popular misinformation
Hey..... who needs GGG when you get Rohan Murdock, right? ;)
Well......... "almost" get.

I have nothing against Ward, I have defended him many times in past threads. What I want to know is why you are calling Golovkin a coward and lying about him not wanting to fight Ward. Golovkin's team picks his fights. I am beginning to think you will not be happy until you see him in against Kovalev.
If Lemieux had won, you would not be talking about how good he is, you would be talking about how Golvokin has always been overrated. Every undefeated fighter with power and a fan friendly style is HBO's darling, if they fight on HBO. I do not know what GGG did to you, but it must have been spectacular, in your eyes, because he has not been around long enough to generate a lot of hate.
What's the deal? He beat you favorite fighter? He makes it look too easy in the ring? He is from Kazakhstan? He is having too much success? His English needs some work? He actually lets his manager manage him? He is not giving you that catch weight fight you just cannot live without?
