It’s a dream come true for boxing fans when Main Events presents “Undefeated . . . But Not For Long” on the June 24th HBO “Boxing After Dark” program. Undefeated heavyweights Calvin Brock (28-0, 22 KOs) and Timur Ibragimov (20-0, 12 KOs) plus undefeated welterweight contenders Joel Julio (27-0, 24 KOs) and Carlos Quintana (22-0, 18 KOs) will clash like gladiators in the Roman Amphitheater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. As they say, “Someone’s ‘0’ has to go!”
Brock, one of the hottest contenders in the heavyweight division - who is the WBC #6, WBA #6, IBF #3, WBO #7 and FightNews #8 contender – has notable victories over Jameel McCline and Clifford Etienne. Ibragimov - originally from Uzbekistan - is the current WBC Fecarbox heavyweight titleholder and has an extensive amateur career but he has not fought the world-class competition of Brock. Both fighters are former Olympians, Brock in 2000 and Ibragimov in 1996.
And as if two undefeated heavyweights risking it all wasn’t enough, Main Events matchmaker Carl Moretti has undefeated welterweight contenders Joel Julio of Monteria, Columbia battling Carlos Quintana of Moca, Puerto Rico in a twelve-round WBA eliminator! Both are explosive knockout punchers as evidenced by their combined records of 49 wins and 44 knockouts with no losses! At 147 pounds, Julio is the WBA #5, WBC #5, WBO #5 and FightNews #9 contender while Quintana is the WBA #2, IBF #13 and the WBO #14 ranked challenger.
