Royce seems to have gone a bit quiet
I don't have any amateur background, but have probably been in over 100 street fights. I'm thirty, and I don't get into fights anymore, or live in the bad neighborhoods I used to. Saturday night, however, I was confronted by four of my neighbors,{I was with one other guy} and outboxed two of them before all four conceded defeat. I thought for sure I was in for a a**-whipping, because all four of them were younger, and apeered to be in better shape. I smoke, and I just recently {7 months ago}, started working out{free wights, jump rope, etc} again. My point is, I never had the skill that you probably posess, and I haven't been in good shape in a couple of years, and I still got it to a certain extent. You might as well try now, before it's too late. Good luck.
well X, you do understand where im coming from then, married now got 3 little ones to worry about, and even though i work out in the gym everyday i no im not 23 anymore and times have changed.do u remember i fighter from the kronk named kevin childress,2 time national golden glove runner up,but never went pro to make the big bucks.by the way i fought all the guys as an amature during 92 olympic trials and yes i defeated hammer griffith but lost to his brother carl later in trials.im sure he remembers me cause i run into his dad eddy carr 2 yrs later and he remembered our fight.one of the best fights i never won

X's story is easier to swallow than Hatton beating Mayweather...
Swallow or spit - I don't care as it was not my thread.
I had an opinion and (hopefully) was honest enough to say that I was not the next Sugar Ray Robinson. I was a good fighter in the ring - not a streetfighter - but still egotistical enough not to want to blow any personal kudos I built up for myself with my record and achievements by coming back when you're too old and too fat and comfy. I know that these are not achievements in a pro boxing, world champ etc scenario, but they're Ok for me !!!
Royce - for what it's worth, I can imagine you loved the sport and the competition, but things move on..... let it go as it has really already gone and you just need to come to terms with that????
