Re: O'Sullivan - Eubank (WBA full title eliminator) on Joshua - Whyte undercard
@ross - You've twice claimed that Spike can't punch because he didn't KO Matthew Hall.
I said if Eubank Jr can't KO Pryce - who got KO'd by Hall - that means Jr can't punch.
Both points are equally stupid.
Does Spike have proven world-class KO power? No. Why? Because he's not fought at that level. Do we have evidence that Spike has KO power? Yes. Whether or not that means he can KO Jr is yet to be seen but it shouldn't be a shock if he does. On form they have similar credentials.

Matthew Hall smashed Bradley Pryce to bits inside two rounds. Eubank Jr couldn't put a dent in Bradley Pryce.
If Jr's got punching power how come he didn't KO Pryce?
Where have I been saying Eubank is a big power puncher?
O Sullivan has people believing hes Gerald McLellan.....
If you get hit with a punch which has 1,100 pounds of pressure behind it, I don't give a shit who you are, its going to hurt you.
O Sullivan may hit hard. I bet theres plenty of heavyweights who also hit very very hard. If you havent got the skill to actually land those punches on better boxers than tired journeymen and domestic level fighters then your only ever going to be a domestic level fighter who has a degree of danger.
In real terms this fight is going to look like a one sided mismatch. Eubank will run through him like a hot knife through butter. O Sullivan will not be any tougher than Chudinov.

Name me some figters who are middle weights and who are known as big punchers. Now tell me they wouldnt stop Hall.
Its boring listening to O Sullivan get over rated off his own bullshit. He hasnt stopped anyone that he wasnt supposed too. Hes done nothing remarkable. Its like the same hype Bellew gives himself.
Eubank gets rated big time by actual world champions and top trainers based on actually sharing a ring with him. Like Froch said he may not be the most concussive puncher but hes tough and strong as they come and can actually fight. O Sullivan is in for a rude awakening.

I agree Eubank is the better boxer but I just don't see him going on his bike for 12 rounds. He will stand and trade with Spike and if he does it could potentially be curtains. Don't get me wrong im expecting a Eubank to probably win, but I wouldn't be surprised if O'Sullivan wins by KO.

It wont matter.
Hes accurate, fast and puts them together very well. Spike will think hes surrounded.
Depending on how good Spikes chin in is how long he will be in the fight.

He wont go on his bike for 12 rounds. He will relish O Sullivan coming forward. O Sullivan will be the one who is back peddling after a couple of rounds, of he gets that far.

You're probably right. Not sure why you have to denigrate Spike's punching power to make the point though. It just dilutes Jr's win.
Fitzgerald - who Spike sparked in one round - went the distance with Andy Lee and N'Dam. I assume you have a semblance of respect for Lee's power.
Re: O'Sullivan - Eubank (WBA full title eliminator) on Joshua - Whyte undercard
O'Sullivan and Whyte wins and you could be very rich.

I didnt know that.
Fitzgerald had been stopped before though.
I dont think Lee is that great though either. He can be outboxed and as long as you dont give him an opening you will beat him. Even Chavez Jr beat him up! I think Saunders beats Lee.
Yes I respect Lees power and im sure if you let Spike have a free shot and stood still he could drop you too. Hes a strong fighter but against someone like Eubank hthats not going to translate to power because he will be too busy defending and thinking to just load up.
Theres plenty of fighters out there who can probably produce more power in one shot than the current world champions but unless you have the skills and technique to go with it that power means nothing.
Also diluting Jrs win doesnt mean anything as this isnt a meaningful fight anyway. Its a good rust loosener warm up for Jr but it will not prove he is any better than the fighter who got a split with Saunders. It makes me laugh that Glen McCrory said Jeter was no prep for O Sullivan. Well im certain that Melvyn Betencourt is even less prep for Eubank Jr!!! This is Eubanks warm up.
Re: O'Sullivan - Eubank (WBA full title eliminator) on Joshua - Whyte undercard
Spike has nothing to lose. Meaningful fight? It is for Jr because if he loses he's fucked.
Do you think Jr would beat Golovkin, @ross?

Jr wont lose.
You will see. The fight will be a bit of a joke and after you will realise.
Do I think he will beat Golovkin? I think he could.
He needs more experience but I do think out of all the other middleweights out there Eubank has as good stamina, combination punching and belief as anyone. What he needs now is experience to refine what he has been impressing world class champions in sparring with and transfer it to real competition.
He has a good plan ahead of him. The Quillan Jacobs winner has to defend against the Eubank O Sullivan winner (which will be Eubank). Maybe he makes a big money dfence against the Lee Saunders winner first.
The biggest shame for Eubank is having that loss to Saunders. He needed a tough fighter to go the distance with prior to that but on his first fight beyond 8 rounds he didnt do too shabby.
Re: O'Sullivan - Eubank (WBA full title eliminator) on Joshua - Whyte undercard
You have Jr beating either Lee, Saunders, Quillin, Jacobs and finally Golovkin. Interesting. He is going to be a modern great.

I do think he has the potential yes.
Dont forget a judge has had him beating Saunders already and that was his first decent fight. Hes picking up proper experience now. Chudinov is better than anyone else Saunders has faced.
Quillan and Jacobs arent that great either. There is a big gap over Golovkin and the rest and if Eubank can put those string of fights together he closes that gap and prepares himself.
