i think viloria is too big for calderon. brian is a natural flyweight fighting at light fly while ivan is a natural minimumweight. i'm telling you the guy to watch out for is rodel mayol. this pinoy will dominate his division, which he shares with calderon, in due time.
rey bautista is another good exciting pinoy prospect. he's like a little tito trinidad but i think he needs a little more experience. he's only 19 and in a couple of years i'm sure he'll be a world champ with freddy roach training him.

yup, he went down in the midround but got back up, recovered and dominated the rest of the rounds for a UD. it's good that he experienced the kd early in his career so that it'll only improve his game in his suceeding fights. golden boy has taken on promoting boomboom's fights in the US so his future is looking bright.
Re: Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon
Is it me or are these lower divisions 108-130 just BRIMMINg with awesome fighters?? Soooo many great matches that are going to happen or should happen!!

Theres also the posibility of moving up to 108 and fighting these guys
Roberto Vasquez
Hugo Cazares
Ulises Solis
Nelson Dieppa
even Brian Viloria ;) that would be a great match up 'puncher vs. boxer'
I agree with moving up. I have watched those guys, but I havent seen Mayol or Kyowa, only what I've read, and action speaks louder than paper.
What would you say to a Iron Boy vs. Hawaiian Punch showdown?
I've been saying that it would be a great fight for the last 3 months HAHA ;D

As we've seen before power & size isn't always everything....Calderon has the skills to outbox him.

true, calderon has skills to outbox brian but sooner or later brian's power and size would just eventually overwhelm him especially since ivan doesn't have the power to keep him off. it would be like vic darchinyan's last fight against diosdado gabi... too big and too powerful.

Anyone else got any views on the little man?
I disagree he doesn't have Mayweather's skill in terms of boxing prowess, and I don't even feel he's as fast one vs. one punch or in reflexes.

but he does have the speed to get away, and keep Valoria lost and confused, Calderon's movement is top notch, and i think he could beat Valoria obviously by UD
