Really? I couldn't see it even coming close. Floyd vs Manny had unprecedented hype, surpassed the numbers anyone thought it might do, and most importantly left a lot of casual fans(who made the fight massive) turned off. That fight did around 5 million buys, Floyds next fight with Berto didn't even do 1, and I don't think Golovkin has done close to 1 in any fight yet. I get that just about any hardcore boxing fan would want to see this fight at all costs, but that wouldn't carry it enough. The only way it would happen is if you are right, and even then I can't see it, Floyd is to old now and was always to small.
Re: Anybody wanna bet Floyd vs GGG in September?
I hope Floyd stays retired.
Until I see it confirmed that he is definitely making a comeback I can't be arsed to speculate about who he will/wont/may fight.
Re: Anybody wanna bet Floyd vs GGG in September?
i think Broner is more likely to fight him lol. Things seem to be heating up between them.

Does he think people will fall for this staged nonsense? Hope it falls flat on their face.
Re: Anybody wanna bet Floyd vs GGG in September?
Floyd vs Broner would reek of a set up/sparring session, would be a shame if that came off.
Re: Anybody wanna bet Floyd vs GGG in September?
Well it would matter, even if I wasn't way off, GGG's highest selling PPV was 150 thousand:p If people only paid to see Floyd and his drawing power didn't take a hit from the Pacquiao fight, he would have done more than 500K against Berto, surely? Pacquiao also has topped a million buys a bunch, against Marquez twice, Mosley, Margarito, and Cotto. Nobody else aside from Floyd has even come all that close to those numbers since De La Hoya. Those are the facts, sonny!

Ward has done jack shit. Take on Kov and then you can say what you are saying.
I like your use of "jack shit" here. Very appropriate. ;D
However.... "Ward has done jack shit" infers that he has done something.
The correct terminology is "Ward hasn't done jack shit".
..... and with that we conclude the longest period of time I've thought about Andre Ward in years.

well your facts kinda back up what I'm saying. Manny fights Massive names in boxing like Marquez, Mosley and Cotto and does a Million, he fights Floyd and does 4 and a half Million.
forgive me, I don't know what Canelo v Cotto did, but that is a yardstick for what GGG v Cotto would've done. the fact he only did 500k against Berto is also proof that it would sell big. why? well only half a million watched that , so the other 3 and a half million or so that watched Manny refused to buy because they didn't feel it was competitive, a fight with GGG would be competitive.
it's all a bit of a moot point , because I don't feel it will ever happen, but these are just my thoughts, "Sonny!" ;D;)

I'm starting to think Ross might make more sense between the two of you:p Neither Manny or Floyd had ever sold anything close to what they did together was my point, it was WELL over double what either had done, wasn't only Manny seeing a big increase. You think the difference in buys between Pacquiao and Berto was only due to how competitive people thought it would be, over name recognition and overall appeal?

Hey, now you have crossed a line , Sonny!!!;D;D;D
I ain't gonna argue any more about something neither me or you believe is actually gonna happen , so we can't be proved right or wrong.
Re: Anybody wanna bet Floyd vs GGG in September?
There's not enough dough in the world for Floyd to get in a ring with Golovkin.
The Floyd-Manny numbers wont be beat for decades - until new massive stars emerge. You had the two biggest stars in the sport, the only two that could single-handedly sell a million PPV's in one of the most anticipated fights in history.

Yeah, they said the same thing about Leonard after he sat out 3 years and approached Hagler.
