bit strange that working from home. all i can picture is the episode where homer worked from home
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_rF4kcqLkI
Couldn't work from home myself. Just seems like 101 distractions and I'd end up on this place during the day ;D. As far as work and motivation. Well I like having walls and a roof. And food, clothes, driving my car and not catching a bus oh and beers and over priced luxuries that let me waste lots of time..from home.
IT Data Geek
what do you do @Memphis?
IT data geek. Imaging and deployment is my thing.
I am a database developer, SQL and BI Stack to be precise
I live in a nice area and I have a bigish house and when people ask what I do they are always surprised when I tell them, I think my look and my demeanour suggests that I am more of a tradesman, people expect me to own my own plumbing or joinery business or something like that
which I take as a compliment
The database bods where I work are archetypal IT types, full on geek squad. Although the 2 women dbadmins are hot as fook.
It takes all sorts. I was a chippie among other things before falling into IT.
I was toying with the idea of working from home, my GF owns/runs 2 of her own businesses so works from home but i'd have too many distractions round me, Sky Sports News, Her ;D, dog barking etc.
I've been out this morning looking at office space to rent and found somewhere local that's ideal and only £120 per month to rent (including wi-fi etc) so i'm gonna take that, also i need a buzz around me (other people working) doing what i do and there's 4-5 other people close by doing their own things at their desks so it's all good!!
Looked at 2 others who wanted £600 a month to rent so this ones a brilliant price.
is she fit?
What kinda work you doing now Smash?
Jealous of you computer-minded smart guys, all I can do is enter payroll, look up porn and post on forums
Just find a way to make money out of your favorite hobby and you don't have to work anymore to earn a living, I mean hobbies ain't work, right?
Mrs Smash is 7 Months pregnant and has her own design and print company Welcome to Funk It Designs | Graphic Design | Logo Design | Brochure Design so been hustling with that nicely, she's recently started as a property developer which i'm also involved in....
She was reading a book last year called "The 4 hour Day" which opened my eyes to the fact that i have been a corporate slave since i left school working in London (City/Canary Wharf) for good money/LONG hours)
She's a hustler (Wolf in Sheeps Clothing) vicious sales closer who would can charm anyone into a deal but nice with it ;D
We bounce off each other and enjoy taking money off of people in the process, we just have that Chemistry where we can double up and fuck company directors over without them even realising what we are doing to them, 9/10 they've agreed/signed before they realise that we have infact manipulated the sale.
I enjoy it but currently have my own LED lighting franchise up and running that's proving pretty successful so far and i only have to work 4 hours per day.
Never again will i go back to a 9 -5 job and be a sheep in terms of work. There's always a way to earn serious dollar on your own terms if you step back and think outside the box.
Working in the Timeshare industry for 4-5 years when i lived abroad taught me amazing/ruthless sales skills and rather than get sucked into that whole £3-4K a week drink/drug/gambling easy money lifestyle i came back to the UK and channelled it elsewhere, have a beautiful 2 year old daughter and a new baby boy due in 7 weeks.
That was 100% the best sales training anyone can ever get as it's 100% the hardest sales job in the world.
I use that to my advantage now and tbh it's nice being settled and doing something else that can earn me serious money without having to sell Coke anymore.
I played with fire in that department and can't do that shit anymore ;)
