No. Wilder is not popular in the US. Maybe in Alabama specifically where he is from but not the US as a whole
He just hasn't set himself up to get that exposure....not sure who his manager is but fucking get Floyd Mayweather Jr on the phone STAT get Wilder some press! Get some eyes on him....he's an undefeated power punching heavyweight and an American one at that...unreal. But part of the blame has to be his opponents, he has Stiverne, Arreola, and :dontknow: on his record.....Americans can be cynical when it comes to this, we've seen Jeff Lacy, we've seen Gerry Cooney, we've seen Michael Grant, we've seen guys get built up and built up and built up only to wither once the spotlight hits them.
Re: Wilder vs Ortiz..is done.
The heavyweight division is still recovering from wlad in the us.

The only thing Wlad did to heavyweights in the US was beat them all....perhaps you are right.

Ya but his fights put everyone to sleep punch, clinch, punch, clinch. He did have a beautiful jab but for the passive boxing fan he did not draw anyone into boxing.

The English have been bumming the fuck out of AJ since he turned pro, and lets be honest until Klit AJ had fought absolutely no one of note, his biggest fight was a grudge match with a pillow fisted unknown (getting beat by AJ was the best thing to happen to Whytes career)
AJ had the luxury of Sky, they backed him from the off and they build his media profile to the point that it was ludicrous, when you have Sky on your side over here you have millions of fans almost immediately, as soon as you get beat they lose interest.
talking of the Sky build up, the casual fan in the UK would have you believe that Linares is up there with the P4P's and that is only because he KO's matchrooms fighters for fun.
I'm not knocking AJ here, I'm just stating how different it is over here.
Just be grateful that DDD is with BoxNation and Frank Warren otherwise he would be fucking global already

I'm glad we aren't so accepting of mediocrity here. We get great fights because of it. Wilder wants to be popular, make the right fights. This is a start. AJ can sail along for free but Wilder will have to work and that's how it should be. Speaking of, is AJ planning to fight someone good after he gets done with Pulev? I remember talk from AJs side that the Wilder fight needs to marinate 💩
Re: Wilder vs Ortiz..is done.
I think AJ had to fight his mandatories which Pulev was one and I think Ortiz was the other so they both will be out of the way.

To each their own. Wlad was a great boxer...not all boxers have action packed bouts in terms of what the average fan is wanting to see (which is typically Rock'em Sock'em Robots blood and guts toughman style fights which takes a great determination from both fighters and a collective LACK of true boxing skill).

Again, fight Pulev, fight Wilder, he would have the same number of belts. So he could really do whatever he wanted. They said quite clearly they wanted the Wilder fight to marinate.
Re: Wilder vs Ortiz..is done.
Let's hope we get the winners clash next. Parker might be an easier fight to make for AJs side before tackling the Wilder/ Ortiz winner tho.

I think Haye v Bellew will get the winner Parker v Hughie.

You could be right. I think the winner would probably gain a rating.
Re: Wilder vs Ortiz..is done.
Parker seems like a decent guy but I don't really rate him as a fighter. I hope he can make a big statement against Fury but I have a feeling he'll end up scrapping a close decision win. Couldn't give a fuck about Haye or Bellew so I won't comment. I like Wilder and AJ though so the top three are all likeable guys and undefeated belt holders, the question is who will Parker sell himself (and his title) to? My guess is it'll be AJ early next year.

The bad news is Stiverne is fighting Breazeale on the undercard and his mandatory spot remains should he prevail so he again is forced on winner.
