Stupid question, explosives are only used to cause damage and destruction. There would be no reason to have them unless you worked in demolition. Why would you want a load of explosives in your house anyway? Unless you had a use for them they’d be completely pointless.

Why would you want a tank? They’re slow, heavy and probably cost a lot to run. I also imagine they’d be hard to drive on the road so once again it’s a stupid question.

I am actually not against someone owning a gun. It could be useful in the event that someone attacks a disabled or weaker person.

My point was more a general observation that the die hard need for weapons, adherance to a God and the destruction of lives and occupation of lands in regions not their own seems to be a tenet of extreme Islam and extreme Conservatism and especially so over the past 20 years. Both seem to have become more wild and wacky and there is evidence to suggest that the extremists on both sides have assisted one another.

Basically, extremism breeds extremism and that is why Switzerland has lots of guns but a relatively peaceful populace and government while you guys seem to have deep rooted issues.

Just look at the kind of TV shows you chaps are into. It's Hunger Games style violence and madness all the way. Peaceful societies have a much more normal culture and attitude towars life. You feel threatened by anything that squeaks and I guess you would when fear is a cornerstone of societal control. It's relatively free, but highly paranoid. Guess all the drugs both legal and illegal don't help much either. Too many wired people.

I definitely have to agree with Rich on this one. Dia Bando has said it correctly there are plenty of imbecilic, mentally ill, phenylalinine-poisoned, Red 40 Lake-drenched, polysorbate 80-choked Americans around here.... take it from me I've been here now for two and a half years almost since being abroad for almost 9 years, I can tell you that the stereotype that Americans are stupid is more true than anyone can ever imagine. There was an incident in Missoula some time back where a guy shot another guy for punching him. If I remember correctly, the incident started in a strip club and there was a size disparity. The larger one was the aggressor, trying to start a fight. The other guy left the bar to avoid trouble. He was in his car trying to leave when the big one started punching him through the open window. He shot and killed him and no charges were filed.
