Re: Koelling v Beterbiev Vacant IBF Title. 11/11/2017
Former World amateur Champion Artur Beterbiev challenges for the vacant IBF World Light-Heavyweight Title against Enrico Koelling.
Beterbiev (11-0, 11 KOs) has been fast-tracked to a World Title after just 11 fights, which speaks volumes about his reputation. He has already fought two former World Champions recording early knockouts against Tavoris Cloud and Gabriel Campillo in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
His opponent Enrico Koelling (23-1, 6 KOs) will be looking forward to testing his boxing skills against the Russian. The German fighter has only a single loss to Mirco Ricci back in 2015 and recently recorded back-to-back wins over rated contender Ryno Liebenberg in the last year.
The packed Light-Heavyweight division has been blown wide open after Andre Ward’s shock retirement, so Beterbiev will want to bank his 12th KO in a row and win a World Title that will catapult him to the summit of the division.

This also airs on ESPN but is preceded by College football...Alabama at Mississippi State :p. I like Beterbiev but he needs some serious activity and progression going on 32 years old. Koelling if anything absolutely dwarfs Beterbiev in rounds.
It also runs directly up against the Jacobs-Arias HBO card so cue the channel flipping.

Saucedo just scored a nice 3rd round ko.

Robert Garcia's young fighter Bryan Lua looked good winning a 4 round UD.

Koelling basically in survival mode from the beginning.

Good to see Brian Kenny calling fights again, always thought he was quality.

Koelling going into a shell against the ropes for long periods, then will throw a shot or 2. Not winning rounds at all but looking for a surprise hail mary.

Boring fight. 7-0 Beterbiev.

To steal a lne from Spicoli, it's all rinse and repeat from Beterbiev. He's not trying anything different to get this guy out of here. Koelling has no power and not much is coming back at all. Artur may be thinking 'just get the belt, impress next time'. It's a little disappointing tho from what most assume id the monster of the division.

Flipping back and forth but man the last thing I expected was hearing booing in a Beterbiev fight. He is literally sparring him a bit..damn just popped his bubble! Better late than never I suppose with ko. Hard to gauge off this one.

At the anthem for non main event 'main event' Ramirez v Reed. ESPN stretching this lead up a looong time waiting for Jacobs to ko Arias ;D.

Ramirez crushed Reed in 2 rounds.
