Re: Fury - BIG announcement imminent
I just hope that when he does fight, it’s against someone that at the very least, we’ve heard of.
It’s all right saying he’ll be rusty and the like, but hey, he was a World Champion in his last fight, as he keeps telling everyone.
Definitely no excuses for an Eastern European taxi driver.

I'll be surprised if it's anyone decent, gone are the days of returning against a Quarry or Sam Peter after a long layoff.
Re: Fury - BIG announcement imminent
I think he just wants to retain some media attention, whilst carefully negotiating his way through a few 'comeback' fights, he has every right to trade off his ex world champ undefeated record, but I fear his ambition now is to subsidise his wild boar and cocaine lifestyle by media stuff, obviously including celebrity get me up the jungle and a televised weekend away with Sally Bercow, or maybe a god spot, what was that program called on Sunday evenings?
Re: Fury signs with Warren Boxnation/BT Sport
TYSON FURY has agreed a deal with Frank Warren to fight on BT Sport and BoxNation, with June a proposed date for his comeback.
Fury has not fought since 2015, when he beat Wladimir Klitschko to take the heavyweight title.
He is expected to fight in Manchester this summer to end his long spell out.
And the deal is a huge one for Frank Warren and his team, with ESPN reporting Fury's comeback could take place on June 9 on the undercard of Terry Flanagan vs Maurice Hooker.
Fury has been working hard in recent weeks to shed weight ahead of his proposed return, despite announcing his retirement in 2017.
The former heavyweight champion had his licence suspended by the British Boxing Board of control (BBBofC) last year, after he admitted using cocaine to help with depression.
Fury posted: “Been very blessed in my life & career achieve the upmost in boxing, was a epic journey along the way,”
He added: “Thanks to all the fans that supported & believed in me along the way. Hope you enjoy [sic] it as much as I did. THE END.”

After 3 years out and having to lose so much weight he isn't going to wade into the deep end just yet, and a first fight gimme I think is quite understandable.
Re: Fury signs with Warren Boxnation/BT Sport
I know, you’re right. But I just don’t like the way that my/our intelligence is insulted by the “Ali style” hype/bs and they will want big bucks for knocking over a tomato can in a glorified spar. It’s not just aimed at Fury, but he’s the one saying “I could beat Joshua NOW” and “I’m only into big names” yadda, yadda.
Re: Fury signs with Warren Boxnation/BT Sport
irrelevant, one-hit wonder (... and the "hit" was a lousy one at that)
Re: Fury signs with Warren Boxnation/BT Sport
Couple of days ago people on twitter were betting 80/1 (Skybet) that Fury breaks Joe Louis title defences record (26) because that's what he was saying his goal is.
1. He currently doesn't have a title to defend.
2. In ten years he's had 25 fights, never averaged close to three fights per year, so at the current rate they're betting Fury will beat AJ or Wilder then go unbeaten for over 13 years.
80/1 could be 80,000/1

It's going to be on an undercard so it's not going to be anybody credible. He'll probably want to get a few rounds in too. Maybe his second fight is a main event against somebody half decent. I would guess it'll be somebody in the WBO top ten but without looking I bet half of the WBO top ten are people we don't know.
I looked it up:
1 Alexander Povetkin (International) RUS
2 Dominic Breazeale USA
3 Jarrell Miller USA
4 Dillian Whyte JAM
5 Tom Schwarz (Int-Cont) GER
6 Kyotaro Fujimoto (Asia-Pacific) JAP
7 Bryant Jennings USA
8 Zhilei Zhang (Oriental) CHN
9 Agit Kabayel GER
10 Christian Hammer GER
Five, six, eight and nine I've never heard of. Fury against a German is probably what Frank will go for.
Re: Fury signs with Warren Boxnation/BT Sport
Fury to announce his comeback fight tomorrow
Re: Fury signs with Warren Boxnation/BT Sport
Warren making bad judgement again (the most expensive option) of our piss poor heavyweights, its a lottery out there! Every promoter wants a heavyweight due to the piss poor standard, Hatton has blown out with Lardarse Browne, Sauerland has blown out with Price, who will be the next to fail? Laughable.

There are plenty of heavyweights out there to choose from and they do not have to be that good. Dubois is the next contender. Warren will have a production line of them.

I doubt it'll be Schwartz or Kabayel. Fujimoto looks an easy mark.
Re: Fury signs with Warren Boxnation/BT Sport
So, it’s official! He’s fighting in Early June against that durable Journeyman “A.N.Other” ! Current holder of the TBA & TBC Titles!
And in another Ground breaking announcement, Team Fury have announced that Trees are Green!
