Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Floyd and Khan's respective fights against Canelo show the difference in their ring IQs.
Khan can't adjust mid-fight or stick to a gameplan to save his life.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
I don't buy into the idea that Virgil Hunter significantly improved Khan. All he did was turn Khan into a mini-Ward, which doesn't play to Khan's strengths. Ward and Khan are VERY different fighters.
I don't think much of Hunter as a trainer. I think he got lucky when he discovered a generational talent in Ward.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Khan best period was with Roach and he was exciting and attacking nearly unifying the light welterweight division.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
IMO, Khan was the boxing version of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. A stupid person who WILDLY overestimates their own abilities.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
"Khan has only lost to hard punchers, and Floyd can't punch!".
Since when have you needed to be a hard puncher to hurt Khan? Craig Watson in the amateurs, Limond, Gomez, Diaz and Vargas all dropped or hurt Khan, and none of those guys could crack an egg. I don't understand the idea that you need to be a hard puncher to hurt Khan.
And don't say, "Prescott and Garcia", because neither of them went on to KO anyone of note after knocking Khan out. Prescott was 19-0 with 17 KOs, but they were against bums, and Garcia only had a 61% KO ratio coming into the Khan fight. Hardly the devastating punchers Khan fans like to pretend they were.

I am not a Khan fan but none of the guys you mentioned that hurt Khan stopped him and Amir took a fearful beating against Maidana to hold on until the end. I do not think Floyd could knock out Khan but he could stop him.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Khan's footwork is TERRIBLE. Crude slugger Maidana was able to catch up to him. Fucking Algieri, who couldn't escape from an aging Pacquiao, had no trouble catching up to him.
Algieri and Maidana were able to chase Khan and find him, but Floyd wouldn't for some reason. I just don't understand boxing fans' logic sometimes.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
You’re allowing Khan’s prime where he “only got beat by big punchers” yet then saying “Floyd can’t punch.”
1. It’s not as if “Floyd couldn’t punch “ for his whole career.
2. Floyd could punch hard enough to keep Manny Pac and Canelo honest even in his Mid 30s. When he supposedly couldn’t punch.
Now let’s get this straight, Khan does not belong in the same ring as Floyd. End of.

And, like I said earlier, since when do you need to be a hard puncher to hurt Khan?
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Timing beats speed.
Case closed.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Would have been an interesting match, but for my Floyd would have won on power and speed alone
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Amir Khan.
Khan had speed and was brave, if you see who he was willing to get in the ring with.
But IMO he was a boxer who was always lacking in boxing IQ.
That alone is enough to have zero chance against Mayweather.

I just can't see a fighter who makes as many technical mistakes as Khan does ever beating Floyd.
TBH, Khan's more like Prime Naseem Hamed or Sergio Martinez than Floyd. He uses his speed to cover his poor fundamentals.
