Andrade seem very excited about the fight.

jermall's fight will be a non-title ten rounder & sergey lipinets v michel rivera could also be part of the prelims
They are putting an Andre Berto vs. Robert Guerrero rematch on this card :vd:
Haymon is peddling door prize paydays from his rusty shopping cart at this point. Still scratching my chin as to why he is currently without a platform.
Nothing but respect for Berto and Ghost Guerrero. Fantastic fight 11 years ago. Guerrero grew on me. But there is irony in that currently so many younger contenders feel stifled and on the shelf while "names for the sake of names only" attractions snag the time slot.
andre hasn't had a professional fight in over five years. i like that they are both probably equally shot rather than either being a step up for an up an comer but like spicoli says, a young contender/s could have got the slot on the card
The only chance Andrade has is if he can beat Benavidez off of him and then come back with hard shots without getting hit in return. He can do that. But do that for 12 rounds against Benavidez? I doubt it.... Andrade will have some good rounds, it will be entertaining, but coming to the middle we will see Benavidez do to him what he did to Plant and that is come on strong... and just start catching Andrade as he comes in with anything foolish.
To me, I just don't think Andrade can beat Benavidez off of him for 12 straight rounds... I have not seen anyone do it and doubt Andrade can do it either.
If Benavidez has made the weight without any struggle I think he stops Andrade late ;)
Having watched the All Access program for this fight, I've come away with some thoughts.
First, I couldn't suppress a smile during the segment when both Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez were all so supportive of Benavidez as the new face of Mexican boxing. Everyone here knows how much of a Canelo hater I am. This just underscored what not just me... but many boxing fans feel. That Benavidez is a throwback to the warrior style of Mexican champions of old. No diva bullshit or clauses. No fukking cherry-picking or marinating. Just a guy who wants to get in there and go to war.
Obviously I'm rooting for Benavidez in this one. To force Ginger's hand and have Benavidez kick his ginger ass. If Andrade were to pull off the upset I wouldn't be so confident, as I don't think his style matches up well with Ginger. Don't get me wrong. Demetrius could certainly outbox Ginger. But I don't want him outboxed. I want someone to splatter his diva ass all over the ring. Unfortunately, Team Canelo would pull some excuse out of their ass to avoid Benavidez should he win. He (Canelo) hasn't used the "I don't fight fellow Mexicans" excuse for some time now. Maybe he'll dust it off.
I'm looking forward to this fight. I like them both, as people, and as fighters. I think it'll be hugely entertaining fight. This is how boxing SHOULD be.
