I was laying in bed and I got this one and had to travel the flight of stairs to post it.
The Easton Assasin is the easy one. Then he was called The Superfly because of his leg drop on Trevor Berbick.
He may of been but, he had another 'official' (if there is such a thing ;)) nickname before The Easton Assassin...

I got my own nicknames for Larry Holmes, but #1 they're not the correct answers and #2 they're not fit to print.

Re: Britkid's 'Heavyweight' Easter 2006 quiz
britkid, can you please explain to me why some fighters wore thongs in the early 1900's?
Re: Britkid's 'Heavyweight' Easter 2006 quiz
Great question!
2000’s
43: What was the venue for the last time two Heavyweight world title fights (WBA, WBC, IBF or WBO), to happen on the same bill in Britain?
46: Which British promoter had Nikolay Valuev on his books earlier in his career?
47: Which undefeated fighter, has comeback from a 8 year ‘career break’ to post a 24-0 record, his most notable victory being over Lou Savarese?
50: Which current contender won a Gold at Heavyweight in the 2000 Amateur European Championship?
43. Is it a trick question? :-\
46. Frank Maloney
47. Leo Nolan
50. Sinan Samil Sam

LOL, I think it was an early Jockstrap, and as it was considered back then, bad boxing etiquette not to show your opponent, that you are not carrying a weapon; ;) (bad choice of words), if you wore one, you did not wear shorts.
But, I may very well be wrong. ;D

Like you, I was under the impression, they were one in the same, but when I went to Audley/Williams, I found out, Excel is not the old London Arena (Limeharbour, Isle of Dogs), but a new Arena in the Docklands (Royal Victoria Dock). ;)
