if de la hoya ever fought mayweather then de la hoya would have everything to lose. de la hoyas been there done it, nothing else to prove. had this been the DLH of 8/9 years ago when he first fought at 147 then different deal.

Coolclick for the info and Sadclick for your opinion on the article. It's good to know PBF-DLH won't be happening, instead we can have more meaningful fights (Hatton, Margarito, Cotto, etc.).
This is a no lose situation for Oscar for 3 reasons:
1- He'll make 20-30 million.
2- If he wins, he's beaten the #1 p4p fighter in the world.
3- If he loses, so what. He'll probably be the underdog anyway. He's on the end of his career, PBF's in his prime. He's almost expected to lose.
IMO, that article is just a ploy by DLH to drum up public interest in that fight. I totally expect this fight to happen.
Arum would not allow this fight to happen.
Ohhh man,you are one lucky guy!!!!!dang, latinas and pinays?!?Quote:

Not only would Oscar have a huge number of people picking him to win, I'm not 100% sure he would enter this fight as an underdog. I personally don't think he would beat Floyd, but there's alot of people who see it differently. Not only that, but losing to Floyd would be a situation where yet another superstar beats him. Oscar, when all is said and done, will be ranked among the superstar fighters of his era, and he's already lost to two of them. Another different guy beating him, end of his career or not, would do damage to his legacy.Quote:

I would like to see him beat Mayorga and retire from competing and do his promotion thing while he is still sharp.
In a recent interview, Oscar says Mayorga will probably be his last fight. This guys such a liar he makes me sick!! At the beginning of every year he says he wants to fight 4 times that year, but never does. He knows he aint quitting jack, esp. after he dusts off the very easy to hit Mayorga.
If DLH really wanted out, he would take a fight that would test his limits, like a Tito or Vargas rematch. This fight does nothing for DLH's legacy, cuz its an easy fight for a skilled boxer who rarely stands toe to toe and trades, anyway.
Seriously...
Compared to what Oscar has faced in his career, Floyd Mayweather Jr is someone he'd fear the least. PBF is the LAST person ODH would fear.
I couldn't agree more! Oscar is all about legacy and what better story line do you get than fighting the worlds number1 p4p in your last outing with your opponents father as your trainer!! this kind of stuff ends up a movie.Quote:

I think Oscar should fight Floyd. This would be a huge fight and a lot closer than most people think. We will have to wait and see how he looks against Mayorga, but if he looks real good he should go for it. Forget that going out on top stuff. It would be better to take that fight now and if he looses, well then he looses with no excuses, no shame. It would suck if ten years from now Floyd retires unbeaten and one of of the best in the history of boxing and Oscar has to ask himself for the rest of his life what if I would have fought him, what if I could have beat him, what if, what if, what if. Fight PBF if you loose you loose but you loose with the satisfaction of knowing that you tried. And if you win, well then you realy go out on top.
