I agree, there is no problem with an L against a great oponent. Take Fernando Vargas for example, this guy earned the respect and love of all boxing fans after his first loss to Trinidad, a fight in which he was down twice in the first round and still managed to come back to make the fight a real dog fight. After that he went on to loose two more fights , one to Oscar DLH and his most recent to Mosley. Three losses against three of the elite fighters of our generation and they were all great close fights. I belive you actually earn respect from these type of losses. These are fights that have no real loosers and that help portray both fighters as true warriors.
