Re: Ricky Hatton v Antonio Margarito
The game it's ok talking about 100+ punches per round and all that but that's not that hard when you have a limtited fighter infront of you that's not throwing anything back.
Lets see him throw a hundred punches per round for 12 rounds when Hatton is infront of you landing rib crunching body shots and many other shots that NEVER stop coming.
Hatton can do it fot 15 rounds can Margarito ???
Re: Ricky Hatton v Antonio Margarito
Yes,I believe he can. Emmanuel Steward took one of his young fighters to spar with Tony and said he was massively impressed by Margarito's conditioning as Tony was throwing power punches for 12 rounds twice over and for 1hr 30 mins in total, non stop. He said Margarito was trained to be pure aggresive, non stop power punching. So yeah, I think he could and what is Hatton going to do when Margarito starts throwing over his punches to Hatton's face and Tony works the body well too.(See round um 5 of the Santos fight)
Re: Ricky Hatton v Antonio Margarito
And Lujan,Santos,Kyvelos were all throwing/trying to throw back. However it's hard when you hit the other guy with everything you have and he is still there throwing and throwing!

Yep. ;) Do people know that that really matters!
Also, Santos is a bad clash of styles for Margarito. He cut his first fight with thim, causing a cancel in the fight. In the next fight, he got a nasty gash again.
Now, anytime you step in the ring with a guy who keeps accidentally cutting your head, you think twice at every time you throw a combination. Thankfully, Margarito still came on strong, even with the cut and the looming danger of clashing heads again. Unfortunately, the fight was stopped early. Even though I thought Margarito should have got the nod, on the decision.

Man...
Hatton Margarito is a very tough pick. BOTH have never met another fighter like, each other. NEVER!
It'd be a war, that's for sure! :army:
Re: Ricky Hatton v Antonio Margarito
HBO would be very wise, to keep Hatton on track to fight Mayweather first. haha
Only a fight fans' dream for this fight to happen. You Hatton fans are in for a rude awakening, that's for sure too! Awesome fight, where I can actually see my fighter, Margarito, losing. But there are other questions that yet Hatton has to face from Margatio too. Grueling fight.

I disagree for once cue shock horror :o I just don't see what Hatton has on Tony. Come on bro,you seen what Margarito does to anyone on the ropes!Tony has the size, the leather etc. How would Hatton win?
Re: Ricky Hatton v Antonio Margarito
Margarito poses the biggest threat at 147 for any fighter. I'd love to see hatton fight margarito but only after he beats mayweather. By then he'll have had 2 fights to adjust to 147. After that I think Hatton vs Margarito would be perfect. The toughest test for either fighter and opinions split all across the globe over who will win. Not like Hatton vs Mayweather, where it's Brits vs The World.

Speed, boxing ability are the 2 things where hatton has a clear advantage, that combined with a relentless body assault and workrate would be his chance, antonio was a power advantage, but sometimes he wings shots, he's not all that accurate, he is immensely powerful though. He'd definatly need to pick his punches against hatton or he'd definatly tire himself out. Hatton has a great chin as well, and is good at diffusing a shot that will hit him flush as to not letting its full effects take place. If margarito couldn't get him out after 4 then hatton would be a big favourtie as long as he didn't lose focus for a second, not because antonio would tire a lot, just hatton would not tire at all and antonio can't adapt. Tszyu was very strong too, and arguably just as dangerous and definatly a more accurate puncher at the weight, and he didn't land that shot everyone thought he would on hatton. If I'd have asked a hundred boxing fans 2 years ago who would have a better chance of beating hatton I'm pretty sure not a single person would say antonio. Just some food for thought.

Not me my friend you know i love you really, the only danger i see for Hatton is the weight issue, lets see how he is at 147 it should not be much of a problem but in terms of talent, skill, workrate and anything else that Tony and Hatton bring to the table, i think Hatton is the favourite.
If im correct Hatton only comes in at about 145/146 on fight night at 140, and he has said he makes 140 with ease, so that is a small concern against a fully experienced 147 man like Tony.
Re: Ricky Hatton v Antonio Margarito
I heard hatton comes in 152-154 on fight night, no doubt kerry kayes will work it out for 147 no problem.

Margarito is coming into his peak though. I disagree strongly with your analysis though,Margarito comes on strong after round 6(Santos,Luaj etc) it's just his last few opponents have not been able to last that long. I agree 100% that he wings his shots but also, because he throws sooooo many, some come from the most unexpeted and weird angles, which you just don't see coming! and let us not forget,Hatton is not going to run like Floyd,he's going to be in front of Tony and if Tony is throwing 100 plus per round,Hatton's going to feel it,regardless of how good his defence is. Also,Hatton would be going to the body BUT he would be taking sooooo much whilst he's banging away and no-one can take Tony's punches for too long. Tszyu did not throw anywhere near as much leather as Margarito so he was easily stifled. In my opinion,no-one who stands in front of Margarito lasts, and like I said,no matter how good your chin is,you cannot take too many from Margarito.OH OH OH silly me,look,I like Hatton but with him in front of Tony, taking the pounding,he is going to get cut.How could I forget?! He's going to be abloody mess! Margarito, tko 11.

Hatton has more skill,Tony has the workrate with the leather imo. Bro,you know I loves you too. CC for having a good discussion though and you have good points too.

I have cc you to even it out ;)
Like I said before he does that to poeple on the ropes that he can bully
Not even Kostya Tszyu could push Hatton back NOT ONCE
