Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Im changing my pick. I thought that Collazo was going to hand Hatton his first loss, but I just watched a video of him, and this fight was made for Hatton. Collazo drops his right hand when he throws the left leaving him vulnerable to left hooks. Expect to see A LOT of left hooks thrown by Hatton. This punch will win him the fight. But also expect a lot of straight punches from Collazo. Ricky can and will tame some to throw some, but will win this fight, probably by a late TKO. Collazo must use his size and stregnth to keep Hatton at bay and he can still win, but ive changed my pick to Hatton

:coolclick: Thanks babe.
I really really wish that I had seen Collazo fight a full shot instead of the buncha clips that I've spotted here & there.
Hatton puts on a good show...I'm seriously considering viewing Hatton in the same light that I do Mayweather, Sturm, Oscar, Hopkins, & Wright...that is until Hatton crosses paths with Lil Floyd...then I'll be bettin against Hatton.
I never bet against my bwoys...never. ;D

Hatton is up there with Mayweather. But because he isnt a slick boxer he will never be seen that way by most people IMO

Hatton's not in the same place as Floyd because of lack of opposition.
I don't buy that shat regarding the fact that he beat Kostya & that makes him the man. Anyone can have a bad night.
Floyd has defeated much more credible fighters than Hatton has. That doesn't mean that Hatton can't get to Floyd's spot...because he could...but all roads end at Floyd for Hatton IWO.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Floyd has beat better people at 135 but at 140/147, Hatton beat THE MAN, while Floyd beat a guy who was 1 fight removed from being THE MAN.

So what equals out then.
Beating Hernandez, Augustus, Judah, Mitchell, Corrales, Manfredy, Castillo, Gatti, Corley, N'dou, Sosa, & Chavez?
Or beatin Kostya, Maussa, Tackie, & Phillips?
I mean...come on. ;D
**Didn't mean that as drunkenly bitchy as it sounded...but you know what I mean right?

James Toney beat Michael Nunn at middleweight, does that say anything about him at heavyweight? Granted they are different situations entirely but you get my point and I get yours. But if we were comparing career resumes, then it's Floyd without even thinking twice, but at 140/147 it's Hatton and that's all that matters right now imo. Now this isn't me knocking PBF, I'm a Mayweather fan and consider him one of my favorite fighters but I think they both need each other equally as much.

With Mayweather, it's what have you done for me lately. And being that Gatti and Judah are the only 2 lately, and the others he faced early and is banking on to some people. And then Hatton JUST BEAT Tszyu and Maussa recently. So like I said, for Mayweather it's a what have you done for me lately. because in the last 3 years only 2 of those names unfortunatly

Alright now...don't be bringin other menses into this because you know that it's 11:37 & I'm liquorly incapasitated.
I know you aint knockin Floyd...I know that they will both need each other in the future...but Hatton in reality needs Floyd more than Floyd needs Hatton...in reality...not the rabid biased boxing fan's reality either...which I can also agree to being a part of...but in reality...FLoyd could fight Oscar & win & retire...theoretically speaking...gotdam I'm sauced & cant type...or make sense...but I hope you get wha tI mean.

What have you done for me lately?!?!? Okay...but my problem with that is this...two or three years...what the fwock had Kostya done lately & who the hell is Maussa or who he defeated compared to Floyd. Kostya was coming off a layoff/inury with Mitchell, he'd lost to Phillips in the past, & then he'd defeated Sharmba & Judah & lost to Hatton...who I might add Mayweather did beat also...Sharmba & Judah...but prior to that...Kostya (again) had lost to Phillips & Mayweather faced much better opposition than Kostya & had not lost. Also...he's faced better opp than Hatton period.
That "what have you done for me lately aint shat" aint nothing more than a fading pop song done up by the sister of a child molesting brother...it don't carry that much air or weight the real world & if you sit back & think about it...it's disgusting.
People need to look at the whole picture.
Mayweather has the better record of any of the above names & that is that.
Sorry...but it is.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
But we are the advanced boxing fans ;)
And they saw Mitchell looking spectacular in his comeback fights and they saw Tszyu destroy him and is heavily favored against Hatton. Then Hatton beat him like he did and he was put on a high.
They saw Maussa on the Mayweather Gatti undercard face the so called "Legitimate threat" to Mayweather in Vivian Harris, and it was national so he gets a boost for beating him! Then they see Hatton knock out Maussa so they put Hatton on cloud 9 right now.
Then they see Mayweather fight Gatti who had struggled against the likes of Branco, but then looked like he was supposed to against Leija and who really picked gatti to beat Mayweather ??? And then they see Judah on National Television against Baldomir and get beaten and then they see him give Mayweather some trouble before ultimately getting beaten.
Thats to the boxing fan out there ok. Not always the advanced fan. But from what they see, with Mayweather it will always be a "what have you done for me lately"

But that's the problem with "US" as a collective...if everyone can have a bad night...because believe you me...there are some nights that I can hold my liquor & some nights that I take too many shots & shat my shorts...you can't base my whole drinking career on one night of poo stained shorts...or can you?
My point is this...records can be attacked...but opposition to opposition...you can't tell me that Maussa or Harris equates to Gatti or Judah or that beating all those bums equates to beating Castillo...& so on & so on...I just don't buy it...no matter who is selling it.
Facts are facts & even Kostya's opposition comes into question when compared to Floyd's.
-
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
It doesn't equate for the past. But for most people its recent.
See I agree with you.
But Mayweather beats Gatti its
cmon who really thought Gatti would win .
Mayweather beats Judah its
Judah lost to Baldomir.
And you said every fighter has an off night and I could say that same thing about Judah against Baldomir but then it would be taking away from Carlos' accomplishment.
Fact is, Floyd beat a focused Judah and he did it the right way.
But like I said, to the average boxing fan who saw Judah get beaten by Baldomir they aren't going to give props.
Contrast that to the average boxing fan watching Mitchell on the comeback, tszyu destroy him, then Hatton beat Tszyu.
Then watch Maussa beat Vivian Harris, and then see Hatton knock out Maussa.
Thats why the lately and people hold it higher. And yes it is a problem.

Agreed...all I am getting at is that it's a shame that it's that way because in the end...people take away from Floyd...but they don't take away from Hatton.
It's been swept under the rug lately that Hatton has only beaten 3 game names...or what I consider to be game...but the Kostya & laughabley the Maussa win are the cream of the crop.
Yet...everyone brushes off Mayweather's anniahalations & humiliations of some of todays better fighters & greater names. Everyone today makes bullshat excuses for why Floyd won...not that Floyd outclassed them...but that they were weight drained & what not or that they had a handful of good rounds so that means that the judges were on Floyd's side.
It's bullshat. We as boxing fans should know better.
I can sit back & say Hatton looked good against Tackie, Kostya, & Maussa & feel fine about it...but I can also sit back & say that Mayweather dominated everyone EVERYONE that he faced...even Castillo, Corley, & Judah.
That doesn't make me better than everyone else or any shat like that...I just think that people need to recognize past before they try to comdemn with the present & even the future.
I christmas...I'm sauced again. :drunks:

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Variable 4: Hatton has never fought in the U.S. before. He's going to be geared up to impress the Yanks as much as he is set to please his hometown crowd that shuttled over to see him stamp his mark on the American stage. How will this factor in to the fight? Who knows for sure...but it can go one of two ways: There could be too much pressure & too little time to adjust to the climate or he could be so hyped up that he just comes out to a blowout & Collazo eats leather all night long...we won't know till the first bell rings. I'm going to speculate that he'll be feelig more pressure to show out in front of us Yanks than he will for the hometown crowd...could be wrong...but I'm pretty sure that I'm right.
Just a small point, contrary to popular belief, Hatton has fought in America before, albeit sometime ago... He was on the undercard of the Naseem Hamed, Kevin Kelly fight...
ooops someone else has already made this point, that'll teach me to reply before readin the whole post!

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
The Bank of America Center will be packed with English folks. Hatton will feel right at home. And here in Boston there are no big Collazo fans. There are much more Hatton Fans. This will be a big pro Hatton crowd ;)

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
I didn't realize Woods was facing Delisle. I saw Delisle fight Julio Gonzalez, he gave Julio some serious trouble. He doesn't stop coming forward and doesn't tire out. He can be picked apart coming forward but this will be an interesting fight for sure.

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
I think Hatton should beat this guy easily, maybe a round or 2 to figure out the style. Look at Collazo's record on Boxrec, fighting guys 1-1 last year etc. He's not ready for the animal Hatton!! No way!
