Gentlemen, there was a winner and a rightful winner, who came forward ALL FIGHT LOOOOOOOOOOONG.
He took a lot of punches, too many for my and no doubt his liking but he put Collazo on his arse in the first round and established a fast start that stood him in good stead as the natural welterweights strength came to the fore in the last round.
Collazo is tough and he can be slick but he didn't want it enough and at times it looked like he had lost heart in his corner. Full marks to him for rallying strongly in the last round.
The pendulum did swing in this fight and Ricky desperately needs some head movement and some of the lateral movement we have seen him show when he is in full confidence.
Ricky came as the challenger and he needed to show he was ready to fight a war.
It was a war that Ricky initiated at every opportunity.
Always the one to start to come forward.
Full marks for Ricky staying the distance in the last round, that was pure heart.
The heart of a champion.
He did the hard work in a hard way but boy he is entertaining, and now he is a Welterweight champion.
Congratulations Mr Hatton and don't forget to give the two finger salute to Frank Warren on your way out.
It was a damn close fight. Watching the replay, I had it 114/113 Hatton. But I do think a couple of the rounds Collazo won, could of gone either way, indeed a lot of the rounds were very tight, it was just Hatton caught the eye because of his aggressiveness.
But hey, I said this could be a hard fight, Hatton is going to have get used to this, if he continues to fight at top level. But I think he can learn from this, and comeback a better fighter in the future, he will need to when it is Mayweather or even Baldomir in the opposite corner.
Cool click for you Britkid, :coolclick: you said it all.
It was a tough fight at the very highest level.
Hatton was fighting a southpaw for the first time in years and fighting up a wight class in a foreign country.
Can he get better?
He needs to, so I hope so because he is so entertaining and such an honest gentleman.
