HAMMO, sorry mate your TOTALLY wrong, he's not fought better opposition than most boxers, everyone one of them have been blown up super feathers who can't punch! Go through his record and see for yourself, he's just a money making machine cause he's asian, and they have a good backing by their community, just look at Naz. If he was a normal wee punter called John from Liverpool, you wouldn't have even heard of him. Before some half witt comes on and says I'm being racsit in some way, I aint being racist, just being realistic. Over-rated, big headed wee turd.
Incidently, I saw the piece about Kindelan on a website from the states, will try and find it again.
TopDog - no, you're not being racist. People are much to quick to howl and pule about that and they then devalue the strength of complaints about REAL racism.Quote:

you failed to make mention of the fact that he won silver medla at olympics as a reason why he gets more attention than a normal wee punter called John from LiverpoolQuote:

Another good point, cheers for that X. CCs all round.
cc back
Great points ice cold, but you no Mr Wrren and his antics with his prize fighters, Kahn is still young but he hasnt got the Charism that a Naz has to be thrown in at the deep end at 21 for a World Title, i think Kahn will be found out soon enough but Warren will milk every penny he can till that happens.Quote:

Aye fair enough he won silver but take a look at Fraudley Harrison, need I say more. :P
Just think of it like this, if the media left him alone, and he was on undercards left right and center, we'd all like the kid. Calling him a "good prospect" and somebody we should "keep our eye on". Its because the media are making out hes Ali reincarnated knocking out pro boxers like nobodys business that us people who know a thing or two are saying "hang on, my sister could knock out most of those guys, this Khans a fraud".
And yes he does slightly remind me of Naseem, unfortunately. I still love watching the Hamed-Barrera fight. Oh i love it.
Tell me the age of Amir Khan right now and the age of those fighting, then tell me better opposition of a kid who won a silver medal and turned pro at that age at this point please?Quote:

If the point your trying to make is that he is still a kid learning his trade, then thank you, cause I've been trying to say that all along, he's nothing at the moment! All of this, he's something special crap is getting on my tits, how can you tell that when he keeps on fighting total bums. And only time will tell if he will be any good. The standard of opposition he's had has been sub-standard cause just about everyone of them has been a weight division below, and complete non punchers. If he's the prodical son as you seem to think he is, lets see him in with a GOOD journeyman to start with, a Gary Reid type, then we will see if he's got the bollocks for the game. He's his own worst enemy, saying he could beat Mayweather over 4 rounds, clown. :lickish: ::**
Exactly! He is 19 years of age for god sake, and for that age he aint doing bad. Why do so many people dislike him? He is a british prospect who has made his country proud in the amateurs and is trying to do the same as a pro. Why cant people support, your like old women trying to find something to have a rant about.Quote:

agreed and well said ccQuote:

He was just on Friday night with Jonathan Ross. (yes im sad and in on a Friday night)
He literally said the words "I'm ready for a title shot now".
I think he needs to stop believing his own hype.
Although, actually, i would love him to try and have a title shot right now. Hed have his ass handed to him like Barrerra did Naseem.
AHAHAHA, BEATIN MAYWEATHER?? WHEN WE ARE YOUNG WE DREAM WE CAN DO EVERYTHING. I LIKE AMIRS CHARACTER, HE SO CONFIDENT IN HIMSELF, THAT MAKES A FIGHTER A GOOD FIGHTER. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND HES JUST GETTING THE KNOW HOW OF BOXING AND HASNT FACED THE MID-GOOD ONES YET.I CANT STAND THAT FATHER OF HIM. ALWAYS LIKE A CHIMP DEMANDING MONEY FOR INTERVIEWS, FORGETTING THAT ONCE HE WAS BATHING WITH ELEPHANTS IN MUDDY WATERS. HE COULD BE LIKE THE NEW GOLDENBOY DE LA HOYA???
yeh too rite
never liked him
he will get too cockey and get knocked o ;Dut
Theres certain kids that mature early, through genetics and life style young Khan is one of those. The reason hes Boxing S/Feathers is because the management arnt to sure what hes got and wont take chances with him, because of the money invested simply down to business. Having said that hes picking up some bad habits and his posture is not improving
While he undoubtedly has potential, as his olympic silver shows, I think he is very much overhyped at present. Yes, he is unbeaten, yes, he has blown some of his opponents away. But his opponents were nobodies, hand fed to him to make him look good. He is the darling of the media and the UK boxing scene because he is a talented British sportsman from an ethnic background - there are many other boxers of similar age/experience/weight with just as good records, but they dont get a look in in the press.
Remember he fought Colin Bain? How unconfident did he look going into that, knowing full well he was there to act as a moving target, nothing more. One pundit commented that "men have walked to the gallows with more optimism than Bain showed at the weigh-in".
I hope Amir realises he is fighting nobodies at the minute, but I think he is too wrapped up in "fantasy Amir-Land", where he is the #1 p4p and PBF is his bitch. I really dislike the cockiness that has crept into his persona - dropping his guard, showboating, mouthing off etc. I hoped he would mature into a great British boxer, but he's turning into the kind of guy I love to see get sparked out.
He should screw the nut, concentrate on improving his skills and face boxers of increasing quality in the coming months. We all know he has fast hand speed etc, but whats he like when he takes good dig in the chops himself?
Cant wait to find out.
I make you right, you look at a fighter if youve got any knowledge on Boxing and you can tell with me the jurys stillout with Khan. Where as with Hatton from the first time you knew that he was going to make it. I remember being in a gym in Streatham 87 I think watching this kid sparring and having wars with good fighters. He told me he was going to earn a lot of money out of Boxing he kept pestering me to train him for a long time. but Id to much on you knew he was going to make it. Young Eubanks did it
